How do you keep your enthusiasm.

okay, it's just my personality. I love challenges and change. I hate routines and don't want to stay in a work that I don't enjoy doing. however, for financial reasons, i had to stick to the job even if I'm no longer happy about it. Going to work needs some kind of intrinsic motivation. It's just that I'm not motivated to work. I would be very enthusiastic about the job for a few weeks or months if i am lucky, after that the enthusiasm dwindles. do you experience the same thing? can anyone tell me how to maintain enthusiasm at work?

I try to distract myself from everything else - especially from the things that I actually don't like. There are several things that I don't like at work but there are still some really good things that I really like. I focus on being busy so that the time would fly by quickly, then I focus on talking with the people who keep my happy, then at least I wouldn't have more reason to be irritated. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Yes.I think what you said is very good.We have to build a balance between something we like and others we do'not like.It is life.

I know what you mean. This is not a private question.I believe everyone will face it sometimes in his/her life and hate to stay in a work that he dose not enjoy it. For most of us,job is just a way to make a living. Maybe salary is often much more important than what you feel from your work. I think there is no good way to maintain enthusiasm at work unless the work is just closely connection with your interest. But what is your favorite interest? If you find it,you are able to know what kind of work suits you.

I think I have so many interests and it's hard to keep my mind focused on a single task.

I work for myself so my income keeps my motivation up, if I earn 500 uk pounds in a week then the week after I make sure I earn more nothing like a financial shove to feed the motivation.

Wow I and i'm sure many others have faced this. The type of job, i mean the actual work obviously makes a difference in whether anyone is enthusiastic or just bored from repetitive task. If possible find some quality about the job/tasks/people you work with that make you feel of value. Also just remember the days before you got that job. And what working allows you to accomplish. Not just financially. Smile and think how fortunate you are to have a job. Unless you seek new job you must appreciate what you have. Many many people around the world are losing job everyday. Most recently I have begun working for self online. I like the freedom and challenges. Not to mention the earning.

I often can find the interest of every job,but at the same time, i also know the shortage of it.I will do my best to maintain the enthusiasm about the interesting side of the job, such as how happy we are when i work with my colleagues and how great i feel when my clients accept me . I'll tell myself the good side again and again. If one day i can't bear it anymore,i will change a new job.

I think maybe you need to set goals each day and think of every day as an opportunity to experience something new.. even when your job is routine. I also think the payoff is the best .. getting paid for your work is a good thing.

Repeat this phrase to yourself every day before work, "I love my job, I love my job, I love my job!" Then, think of the upcoming payday. Sometimes, we have to lie to ourselves and look for the financial reward to make it through the work week!
