How would you feel having your child driving at 16? What about you driving at 16?

I think it depends on how responsible the 16 year old is. My parents made me get my license right away when I was 16 so that I could drive in case of emergencies, but of course I was a very responsible kid haha. Definitely enroll them into a driving school and go out and practice with them a few times a week!

I did enroll her into a driving school, we also took her quite a bit - anything to gain experience. Now she;s driving by herself and I'm less stressed... Thanks for the answer!

I don't have children, but I can understand if someone is nervous about having their 16 year old drive alone. I know I would be. That's why I think it's important for a parent to give the 16 year old child a LOT of practice with them while they have their permit; and also to encourage good "behavior" (buckling up, not driving too fast, etc) and make sure they know the consequences of their actions. The rest is up to them, though. I didn't drive at 16, but I got my license when I just turned 17, so I guess it's pretty much the same thing.

You're right! I should feel good that I have her the practice before letting her on her own. And has the driving school too. The rest it's up to her as you said, and all I can do is hope for the best and have confidence that she'll make the best choices. Thanks for answering.
