Does China own us?

I was just checking the news and see a huge headline "Owned by China"... Now I know that it has become increasingly difficult to purchase products NOT made in China in this country. But in addition to flooding the market with goods, China is also purchasing our debt. So at what point does the USA cease to exist and China has another piece of property in the world? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/23/china-continue-buying-debt-official-says/ Am I being too sensitive? Is this how the global economy works? What do you think?

I think that China is living up to its name of "sleeping Giant". China is stealthily claiming power over many aspects of international living and being the main manufacturer of consumer goods has affected how important they are to the rest of the world. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Mi oyen... I didn't know that China went by that name so thanks for the information! I do understand that they are the main manufacturer of the world and it does affect the world economy when you have one major provider! Thanks for the response.

Nope. We are "owned by China". THey are buying up our debt and lending us money at an alarming rate. Heaven help us when it comes time to pay it off. Plus we has better stay on good terms with China so they don't call in the debt early or decide to stop investing in us. It is a very bad spot to be in. You can thank our elected officials for it.
