I wouldn't use olive oil on the skin.....especially the face..... I would think that olive oil would cause your face to become very oily and greasy. I also would think that olive oil, being so thick, would cause your pores to clog, which isn't good. Clogged pores equals a lot of dirt (and oil) build up. You may want to go to your local pharmacy and check out the products they have that are specifically made for the face. You should be able to find products that are specially formulated for those with dry skin or oily skin or combination skin. For your child, try finding a lotion with shea butter if she has dry skin. Shea butter works great on my children (especially in the winter when they get very dry). Johnson & Johnson has a great shea butter baby lotion that works beautifully! :-) Hope this helps!

yes...at present, even i am using Johnson & Johnson for her...my aunt who has been using olive oil for her face said that they are really helping her black spots heal and that her skin is softer and much less dry than before, she was the one who recommended me to try olive oil...hope, istead of applying it staright to my face, i can mix it with some scrubs and use them for facial purpose....thanks for you response

Olive oil is very good for the skin unless your skin is already oily. I use it instead of lotion sometimes and my skin is just fine. It is a little thick though for a body oil. I don't use it on my face but I do use it on my scalp.

If you do it in the evenings before bed and blot it, but I personally think it is a little heavy for the face. I have used cocoa butter on my face and it makes it a little shiny, which I don't mind because it is good for my skin and the shine is temporary. If I were going out though I wouldn't want my face to seem greasy. You can try it on your face and see how it works for you but I would think you would need a very good quality extra virgin oil. I usually use a good moisturizer or a really good lotion that I have thinned with a little water. I am just particular about what I put on my face.
