Eating a lot of red meat can raise death risk

Time after time we always see some research that says something is not good, now it's the red meat's turn. Personally I don't eat red meat all the time as mostly I don't have time to cook it but I still eat when I have the chance. This article is now saying that eating a lot of it can increase the risk of earlier death. Here red meat intake was decreased by some people when there was the mad cow disease but after that others still eat plenty of it. You can take a look at the article here: http://www.timesofmalta.com/life/view/20090324/medical-updates/red-meat-raises-risk-of-all-kinds-of-death Do you consume lots of red meat in your country or yourself personally? What do you think about this research?

I agree with the others that it's always something or other. They are learning a few things, though. One of the reasons red meat isn't good to eat a lot of is the way it's produced in most places. For instance, cattle are naturally grass eaters, but they're "finished" on high protein corn and other grains, along with commercially created "food" made from all sorts of things they would never eat and were not meant to eat. This causes the meat to have a lot of omega 6 fatty acids instead of the omega 3 fatty acids it would have otherwise. Also, grass finished beef doesn't have as much fat or cholesterol. It's a shame what happens to good food when it's taken over by businesses instead of farmers.

Yes I agree with you, also the increased use of chemicals is damaging our health more. Thanks a lot for this information, have a nice day.

They say this now, but wait a few months. They'll be saying the exact opposite then. :) Happy red meat-eating and MyLotting!
