Do you give your kids 100 percent juice?

I like my kids to have juice that is all juice and no added sugars, preservatives, etc. I always buy Juicey Juice since it's 100 percent juice and my kids love the taste. I do buy some of the juice pouches and boxes that aren't all juice like Capri Sun but that is mostly for my daughter's lunch box. Do you give your kids 100 percent juice? Do you just buy what they like no matter what the juice content is?

Hi there Shar19 Yes I do always give my kids pure juice, non of that made from concentrate stuff either. I bit like you though I put what I call squash in their packed lunch boxes though because I have not as yet found any small cartons of pure juice suitable for lunchboxes!

I'm pretty sure Juicey Juice now has small boxes and Capri Sun is coming out with pure juice too.

I use to be a big fan of 100% juices. When my eldest was little I took it so far as to only buy popsicles that were made from 100% juice too. When I realized how much sugar is in all juices (natural sugar is still sugar) and how little nutrition is in most juice I stopped. I buy what's on sale & what they like, but I don't allow them to drink it often. Even Kool Aid has vitamin C and if they only have a couple glasses a month I think it's a good treat. They drink a lot of water, no sugar & truly hydrating.

I seem to be able to get my kids to drink more water in the summer time.

Aside from the Capri Sun and Sunny Delight drinks that my son takes in his lunch box the juice that my kids get is 100% juice. I don't normally buy Juicy Juice though. I get the frozen concentrate from the freezer section of the grocery store.

I would buy the frozen concentrate but all the ones I have seen have high fructose corn syrup in them.

I'll give them juice that's not 100% but they get their vitamins other ways (food, fruit) so I don't feel too bad about it.

I only but 100% juice with no added sugar. Most of these are based on apple juice which has a lot of natural sugar, so I don't drink much or give much to the kids, I try to encourage water as their main drink.

That's a good idea.
