Lets imagine that there has been a huge storm, the rain is pouring down and the power is out. That means no playing outdoors and no TV or videogames. What would you do with your kids to pass the time and keep them from being bored?

I would say board games! My kids love Monopoly and of course the Titanic game board.

Hide and seek. Toss some playing cards into a hat or basket. Favorite memories, name an animal and then name another animal with the first letter.

We don't have kids, so we don't have to worry about that. All my husband and I have to do is keep eachother entertained, and that's not that hard. LOL As for your question, when my sister and I were little, Mom had lots of board games, card games, paper, paints, markers, and other craft things in the house for us to play with, and in 1995 when I was 13, I got my computer.

Where my parents and younger brother and sister live, the power goes out without fail every time we have even a minor storm, and it takes ages to come back on because they're so far out in the country. We also lose our water supply because we're on tank water. We usually light candles and talk a lot. We get my brother's battery powered cd player and put on some music and mum and I make cups of hot chocolate and tea with the gas stove. It sounds nice and cosy I know, but actually most of the time we're walking around whinging and moaning, bored out of our brains. Sad isn't i? The last time it happened, mum threw us all in the car and we drove to town and went to the supermarket and bought munchies and drinks to pass the time. By the time we got back the power was back on! I advise everyone to have a small generator that can power a small tv, music and a light. Also have plenty of gas for the barbeque if you don't have a gas oven!

Well I'm with my grandkids alot as I babysit my 2 girls. if we are home at my house we do arts & crafts, if we are at my job, yes I pick them up at school and take them to work with me, they play games and kinda help me with my work to give them someting to do.

We don't have a TV and I seriously limit electronic games so I guess my kids would just carry on pretty much as normal! Wrecking my bedroom by leaping on the bed and doing acrobatics seems to be a favourite activity of theirs, but they like to read as well and do drawing or craft work. At the moment we've got puppies as well, which offer endless hours of amusement for children.
