No matter what, I always end up writing about someone crazy, or some love story that turns out horribly wrong. Something tragic. Do you ever catch yourself writing about similar topics?

For stories, I usually write about things that happens in my living or people near me, which is most easy to express. For informative writing, I write about Travelling and Movies and Books, which are the things that I love to do.

I don't really have a "topic" per se as far as my fiction goes but I do tend toward what I call "pulp horror." The kinds of stories you'd see on Tales from the Crypt... super short vignettes (200-500 words usually) that are pretty stagnate through the bulk and then end with a sudden surprise that would be comical if not for the atrocity of it. Novel-wise, I'm trying to formulate an idea that will get me past 15,000 words because that's about the point I run out of steam (not to mention direction).

I mostly write for young children around preschool age, but I also do work for older children and young adults/teens. Lately, I've been doing a lot of work on teen issues, such as self mutilation, since it's something that happened in my family last year with my sister. I don't really care to much for doing nonficiton articles for young children either. I prefer fiction since I get to be a little more creative in that area. I also try to stay away from animal stories for children, but the book I'm doing is my first animal story and it's going pretty well.

I enjoy writing articles on a wide variety of topics. I often write about green issues and healthy living. I also like to research and write about different species of wild animals, and I have written some on pets too. I have a blog about having a positive attitude, so I write a lot about that. Really I am writing about life, how to appreciate it, enjoy it and protect it.

I find that I write about what I have been exposed to. I find it extremely difficult to write on a subject that I am not familiar with. From time to time I do write on the same subjects that you mention. I was a bit in a turmoil about a writing opportunity subject that I did not know anything about. This question has helped me to realize that I should not try to write on everything, just what I feel comfortable with. Thank you for MyLotting.

I write about topics that are of interest to me. I tend to be more of a fact based writer so that is mostly what I write about. I think there are some people that are better at fact based writing and some that are better at writing creatively or writing fiction. It all depends on where you feel your strenght lies. I think there are many modes that you can write from.

Hi rebel... I think we write about topics which are interesting to us and hope they're interesting to others. I've written some topics about politics, parenting, and general life issues I've had. If they're similar it's just because it comes up most often in our lives.
