Can someone help me with a chicken recipe?

I had balsamic chicken in a restaurant. I gave a taste to both my daughter and my husband and they both thought it was great. I thought I would try and make it. I looked up balsamic chicken at allrecipes.com and they all use balsamic vinegar. I purchased balsamic vinegar salad dressing. There are recipes where you cook chicken in Italian dressing so I thought you could do the same with balsamic dressing. I'm just not sure how to go about doing this. Should I just do it the same way the recipe online says (pour half a cup of the dressing (vinegar) over the chicken and bake in the oven)? Or does anyone have any better ideas? Thanks!

RecipeZaar is another great recipe website to checkout. I love balsamic vinegar and balsamic chicken is a great dish. RecipeZaar lists several recipe options. Go to Recipezaar.com and search balsamic chicken and see if any of those are more of what you're looking for.

Thanks. That one didn't come up in my search yesterday. I'll be sure to check it out.

I usually go to foodnetwork.com for all of my recipes. I've never cooked with balsamic dressing, so I'm not exactly sure if it'll cook down the same way plain balsamic vinegar would. I know there are some things, that when making a recipe, they have to be the exact ingredient or it doesn't turn out right.

Thanks. I checked out the website and all recipes are pointing to balsamic vinegar so I decided to check the Kraft website since they make the balsamic salad dressing. There is one recipe but I haven't tried it yet.

I don't know what balsamic salad dressing has in it but why don't you marinade the chicken in it first, overnight or something and then cook it, as it is? Score the chicken a little across the top and then rub the salad dressing in to make sure it soaks into the meat, then marinade in the usual way. That sounds as though it might work. Brightest Blessings.

You're welcome my friend. Chargrilled chicken here is often scored, especially when it's marinated in Barbecue Sauces.

So you grill it after you marinate it? Or can you cook it another way... in the oven???

Thanks for suggesting I score the chicken first. I never heard that anywhere. Thanks for your input.

Generally, I like only boiled chicken because I think it is completely germs free. It is also very easy to make.

Actually, I tried something completely different last night, with chicken thighs. I got the recipe from allrecipes.com. It uses cream of mushroom soup but because of all the other stuff in the "casserole" it didn't taste so much like mushroom soup. It was absolutely delicious. I have bought balsamic vinegar and will try one of the recipes sometime soon.

I think you don't cook this well. Otherwise chicken is always very delicious.
