My husband is crazy about Casio G-Shock watches. He has three of the Master of G series including the model you just mentioned. G-9100-1DR I believe is what they call the Gulfman model. He also has the G-9200 or the Riseman and the G-9000 or the Mudman. Of the three, my favorite is the Gulfman because of the way it looks. It also has great features like tide and moon graph, world time and it has seven-year battery life. The best part, according to my husband, is that it has titanium components such as the case back, the buckle, and the screws. This only means that you could bring the watch to the beach and even underwater and have no fear of it getting rusty. It is rust-resistant. It also has a solar atomic version, the GW-9100. The difference between that and the regular Gulfman is that the GW-9100 does not have the tide and moon graph but it has more titanium parts. I think the Gulfman is a very good choice. But you may also check out the other Master of G's like the Riseman (G-9200). This is the watch I gave my husband last Christmas. He simply loved it because it can measure barometric pressure and altitude and it is solar powered. And over-all it looks really good. Have you purchased the G-9100 already? If you really are into watches, I suggest you check out www.watchuseek.com. The site has different watch brand forums and you can get some really good tips there. Good luck on your search for a new watch.
