My 9 year old daughter came home yelling her head off the other day - "I made the Honor Roll, I made the Honor Roll, I made the Honor Roll!!!!!" over and over again. I knew she was getting her report card and I was pretty sure her grades would be reasonably good but I wasn't expecting her to make the Honor Roll! She got 2 A's and 4 B's including a B in Math, her hardest subject. She's never been on Honor Roll before and now her name will be printed in the local newspaper along with the rest of the Honor Roll list from the school. I'm so proud of her!!

I was thinking the same thing. Which is why I responded so quickly. It's nice to Gumball present and accounted for, isn't it?

That is great news! I'm sure she is over the moon, and why not? That is a big deal. I bet you're going to cut that out of the newspaper to save. And by the way, it's nice to see you here. I haven't seen a discussion from you in a long time.

I did better than just cut it out - I bought 2 copies of that paper so she could have her own copy.

The other day she also brought home a new frameable certificate from State Rep. Terri Austin (she's also from Elwood) with the seal of the Indiana House of Representatives, congratulating her on making the Honor Roll!

Good to hear this about your daughter and hope Great things will continue to come from this as well. Making the Honor Roll is a Great accomplishment for any child and one to be proud of for sure. I remember Math being one subject at times that kept me from making the Honor Roll, so proud to hear that she did it.

Congratulations, you proud parent! I don't have kids yet so I don't know how it feels. But, I'm sure you were so delighted, that was great. My brother is in honor roll too, he's the 7th placer in his class so I'm a pretty proud sister It's so great to see kids studying hard while enjoying their lessons. Anyways, great job and keep it up!

YAYYYYYYYYYYY!!! Congratulations to your daughter, Gumball! It's wonderful that she is so excited and proud of her achievement! No doubt you are busting your buttons :D :D I get so anxious when I know the report cards are coming home and my girls are 15 and 18 LOL! They have always been good students so report cards are a happy event for us. I've never given them "payment" for good grades but the one thing we've always done, since they were little, was to have "Report Card Dinner." They get to choose some kind of junk food or fast food, whatever THEY want, without any input from me or lectures about eating something "half decent" LOL and that is what I get for them... and whatever they pick, I eat that too (even when it's against my better judgement *grin*). We sit together, eat the food and just celebrate their accomplishments. It's a blast and something I really look forward to doing each time. I bet you'll be watching for that newspaper! :D

I am so pleased for her (and for you of course) and very proud of her too. We don' have an honour roll here but I am sure that my Niamh would be on it if we did. She one the excellence award for her year in P1 and was runner up in her second year - we will soon find out how she did this year - despite having LOTS of time off due to ill health she is still at the top of her class! Give the little sweety a big hug from me and tell her I want a pic soon! Hugs xxx
