I like the fact that the compost can be used for many things I like the fact that it is easy to use. i think there are many compost piles that are going to be used this year with all the gardens that are going to be put in. I think that the people will continue to use all the compost they find.

If it is really large, the insides may not be getting any oxygen fo r the good bacteria to grow and decompose the materials that you are putting in/on it. You need to either turn the pile or find a way to get the oxygen to the middle of the pile. One way woud be to take a pipe and put holes in it and then push the pipe into the middle of the pile. You cou also use it to put water into the middle of the pile too. If it is really large, you could possibly put two or more pipes with holes drilled in them.

A compost pile should be a certain size so it can heat up. It is the heating up that quickly turns the organic material into compost. Of course it will get bigger if you keep adding stuff to it. If it is too small it will decompose eventually but will take a long time. It also needs oxygen or it will just rot.

Are you turning the pile with a shovel every once in a while? I water my compost pile everytime that I water my plants. I throw stuff in mine all the time, everyday. I think it is really important to turn it, bring the stuff up from the bottom and put on top.

Considered slowing down the pile until it does start decomposing?
