I just saw it on the news tonight. A recent article on the HK Magazine website entitled The War at Home by a Chip Tsao ridiculed the Filipino nation as it explicitly discriminates the Philippines, calling it as the nation of servants. The columnist saw the news about the Philippine claim on the Spratly Islands and on that he wrote on the article: [i]"As a patriotic Chinese man, the news has made my blood boil. I summoned Louisa, my domestic assistant who holds a degree in International Politics from the University of Manila, hung a map on the wall, and gave her a harsh lecture. I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she had better tell every one of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of Spratly Islands belong to China. Grimly, I told her that if war breaks between the Philippines and China, I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would not risk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day. With that money, she would pay taxes to her government, and they would fund a navy to invade my motherland and deeply hurt my feelings."I'm not hurt with his note that the Philippines is a nation of servants, as most if not all people in the world are servants at one point. What hurt me was his treatment to my countryman who happen to serve him. There are many countries that claim the Spratly Islands, including the Philippines. It's not really a reason for the Philippines to start a war against China or any other country for that matter. War is the last thing that the Filipinos would think of. I don't know much of this issue but this is not a reason to underestimate our intelligence as citizens of the world. The editors and publishers of HK magazine already removed this article in their website. They have also expressed their apology. But the writer himself seem to be firm with what he wrote. The Philippine government is now deciding on what action to be taken with this insult. The bottom line here is that my countrymen are really insulted. They are demanding that Chip Tsao be brought in Manila and give his public apology. I don't know what the government might do to give the columnist a lesson but this is just really unacceptable. What's your view about this issue? Please do give your honest opinion.

I think that columnist already gave his apology to the Philippines. But I also heard that he was warned not to come visit the Philippines yet as he might get criticized, stoned, or worse. What he wrote was insensitive and cruel and I think he wasn't thinking at that time when he wrote it. A rational mind wouldn't write those stupid remarks at all and I think Chip Tsao had an attack of stupidity that time.

I watched "TV Patrol" tonight and that's how I read the story. What he really said is something rude about filipinos. Like what the government officials said, what if the 130, 000 filipino workers won't work there, probably their economy would go down in that day. I haven't read the article of that Chip Tsao yet but I don't intend to read because it would help him earn money by my page view.
