I'm looking through the sale ads for the grocery store this week. I see that bottom round roast is on sale for $1.79 a pound. That's a good deal. Looks like we'll be having a roast this week.

I have not had a beef roast in a long time. It is always so expensive I never buy it. At that price I probably would be picking one up too if I had the money. How are you going to cook it? Oven or crock pot?

my advice would be to buy as much as you can and put it in the freezer! we do that when meat is on sale (we only buy meat on sale) and we have a place that we get chicken much cheaper than the grocery store.

You're lucky to have a place that sells it cheaper.

At that price I would try to pick up two or three of them and freeze the others. Our local grocery store has a sale on meat twice a year. They have some really good buys and I try to buy enough to freeze for later use.

Ohh..that is a good deal. You could also make french dips! Get some french bread and mozzeralla cheese. Au Jus sauce mix too. Put the roast beef on the buns with the cheese and toast them in the oven. Dip them in the gravy/sauce after you make it...mmmmm..be sure to toast the bread enough where it's not soggy when you dip it.
