A neighbor of mine, an old widow shares her story about her two boys. Her eldest boy, have finished school with a an excellent grades and landed a job as a college instructor. At present he has a family of his own, have 4 kids, a working wife, live a home of their own. The youngest brother didn't even bother to finish primary school. Even his mother did not even know where he get the idea that, education cannot make a person richer. He did not went to school and when he reached 18,he asked money from his mother, an initial investment according to him. He worked alone together with his assistant. What did he do? He started a creating furniture one by one. And sold it house to house. His work were seen as the finest one, in fact many ordered his furniture. Thats when he got hired other assistants. With all his profits, he was able to build a furniture factory, hired many workers, and with luck, by now he is exporting his products. He prove to himself that education doesnt' really makes a person richer. For him its his special skill, initiative, determination and perseverance that bring him to this success. Please share your views on this.

Education definitely does not make you richer. I have a BS in Computer Science and I am making pennies. There are plenty of times that I wish I had done other things with my life so that I can be better off. On the other hand though, education can play a part in a person being successful, but that is not always the case.

Yeah, my youngest daughter is the only child I have who got a college education. . . a BS in psychology. She spend another 2 years working as a file clerk, receptionist, clerk in a super market, clerk at a yarn shop while she went to massage therapy school. She now make more as a massage therapist than she would as a psychologist unless she had a Masters or PHD.

Education gives you the state of mind of an achiever. The more you know the more confident you are when job searching. With a little well place manipulation you can be an idiot when it comes to the job and still get it but you wont keep it long. Education gives you a better chance at getting a better job. You can cheat your way through school, even college but you can only cheat at your job for so long until you get fired. With the fame rate rising in America, you have a very good chance of becoming a famous idiot and making more money then a intelligent person. To wrap this all up, the more you know, the more likely you will be successful. Keep in mind that you don't have to be rich to be successful, you just need to be good at what ever it is you do.

It's not that education won't make you rich, but education alone won't. Yeah, education is really important to get ahead in the game, but he's totally right, having determination and perseverance can help you more in reaching financial independence. If you have read about famous people who became rich, most of them are educated but also a lot of them doesn't even finished College. So it's really the determination and perseverance to get something that will determine if a person is going to be rich or at least financially independent. If you want a broader view about this, I suggest you read Robert Kiyosaki's books especially the "RICH DAD, POOR DAD". That book really opened my mind regarding this. I used to think that education alone will make you rich, but there's more to it. So please extend my warm congratulation to that neighbor of yours, I salute him! =)

KNOWLEDGE makes one richer. Never stop learning. Now I do not necessarily agree that EDUCATION makes one richer, or that traditional forms of education (school) are always the best path for everybody. I think that everybody should be able to gain knowledge any way they want or can and not be REQUIRED to go to any type of traditional school in order to attain that knowledge to have it be worth a piece of paper - but that is purely my opinion. I think the example you give is what I think about too, people who are extremely self motivated and hard working and learn how to depend on what they can do for themselves instead of what they can get in other ways from other people - they tend to be more successful anyway, regardless of the path they choose. Lots of people just follow along, do 'what they are supposed to' and come out with the expected result. While this isn't bad, it's certainly not creative or insightful, so no wonder many of them bristle against people who choose nontraditional ways of doing things.

Education alone can not make you rich - I think this statement is true! But if you will work hard for sure in no time you will get what you want. Happy MyLotting!

Education is not a tool or something to earn money. Rather, it is something which makes you understands life better, makes the human species an intellect and increases the amount to earn through your skill by many folds. To earn money one needs the skill which the lad in the story had. But if the lad would have been educated he could have multiplied his investment but to much higher amount.

Our success in life will not depend on what we have finished in school but on how we workhard to achieve our dreams. But this doesn't mean that we loss trust is schooling. Having an education is a part of our journey to success but its our determination and hardwork is our main key.

In this case the successful business man doesn't have a "formal" education, but he has educated himself in life skills. It's still an education. He decided early in life that he wanted to earn a living doing something he loved to do, so he figured out a way to do it (educated himself without the benefit of school) and he did it.

Absolutely, education can never make u rich if you don't have the talent i think basic education is good enough to make you rich if you have a talent to become rich a metric pass can become rich if he really knows what is life and how he can handle his life nicely.

education makes a person rich in knowledge. it helps in developing the brain. it helps in developing confidence and it helps in exposure to many different things. well, the person in question was not educated but still achieved success some sphere because this person was dedicated and determined to earn money and it was his tarhet to get big. it is said that where there is a will there is a way. this person has proved it. it was his perseverance for sure that has been with him all through his success.

Education is one factor that can uplift one's personality. An educator never ended to become a wealthy individual in terms of riches. Instead be wealthy with students being able to impart the knowledge an educator have. They have the knowledge to let the students be convinced enough to become more inspired regarding education.

Well you are absolutely right. The key to becoming rich is perseverance, hard work, a good deal of luck and skill at something. Education can be seen as key to earning money and surviving but i dont think education serves as a differentiatior. Its just the way we think and apply what we learnt.

I tend to notice among men mostly that they get bored with school for whatever reason and they quit and then they go out and do quite well. I know a man at my church like that. he got to the ninth grade and said, that's it, that's as far as I'll go and it was. He ended up becoming a roofer and is doing very well for himself. I think it depends on the person and what they know they can or cannot do; they have to know their own mind on that. You may have someone with a better idea and run with it; however I still feel as a person, have an education; but there are cases that it is the exception than the rule.

i do not think education alone makes you rich. You can be someone who does not make alot of money but they are happy with what they have, and to me that makes them rich

Ya i totally agree with you that determination, hard work ,perseverance and lot of struggle is required to be a man of success. If one is educated but does not have that fire in him to excel in his professional field, then there is no worth of his education but if he will put his education in a best possible manner then he can carve a niche for himself. Uneducated does not mean empty headed,it is just the lack of some theoretical aspects of life and people who prove themselves beyond the theoretical aspect always go ahead and share success stories.

sometimes there are really people born to be a businessman. u can see lots of people who is good in business but never finshed their studies. of course for us its the best thing that we can give to our children an education. we will be very happy to see them wt a diploma tuck under their belt. but of course ur right it will not be an assurance to make people richer because lot of people fnsh college but still unemployed. its wt in the person how he deal wt his life how he face this midst of challenges. persevrance and optimism n life wll make people rich no matter how hard he will encounter if his determine to attain something he will get it. just believe in ur self.

Education makes you get a job, that's true. But education make a person richer? i don't think so. Many example that prove that people who do not have good education but has a strong will to success, never give up, not afraid to fail, hard work. These make they became a rich person. But with good education, making the road towards more smoothly even though it is still not easy. One thing is for sure, education make people know a lot of things, bad or good, have to do or haven't, etc
