I have seen all the 5 HP movies and read the entire series. I love all the books, but after reading the books loads of details are missed and a few details twisted. On any given day I prefer books than movies. Books rock and movies are average. What do you guys say?

i go for the BOOKS! watching the movie really had many disappointments because some parts were altered, a lot are missing and it's not just the same as the book. i could picture the scenes well when i am reading the books and it really is better than watching the movie because i only get frustrated.

Ya there are loads of instances where we feel our imagination was far more better than what is being shown in the movies. You can quote many examples... The one i can remember immediately is the harry potter series movies. I think they suck big time when you compare them with the books. Lots of details missed, details distorted and removes the fun which i had while readin the book!

Well read the sixth and seventh part of the book. Once the movie releases watch it. Then you will really know which is better. Give book a chance. I would recommend it!

Well I have sone it too, read the books and watched the movies. Yes there is no comaprison between the books and the movies and do you think it is possible to compress the entire book in a 2 hrs movie without losing any details???? Yes the books help you and are far better however I am sure you guys would agree that the visualisation of what you've read and imagined thru movies is awesome. I think the movies are a brillaint take on the books and no one should give either a miss, what say guys????

Well i would say the visualisations are great when u imagine them while reading. The movie limits your creativity and imagination. Ya i do agree we cannot compress everything in a 2 hr movie. Lets see what happens to HP 6 and HP 7 movies. 700 page book in 1.5 hours hope it doesn end as a gross representation of the book

I like the books more than the movies. Films are much more abbreviated information and no means almost nothing. The book are so detailed. I like the book, I have read them 2 times.

I always love the book because it has all the details and the descriptions of scenery, location, characters and all that are really detailed and complete. Of course, I look forward to seeing the movie and see if it gave justice to the book. also find that reading a book makes me feel that I am a part of the story rather than watching the movie, LOL!

I argee with you! Movies always leave out important parts of the book, it's not fair. It's a shame, but at the same time, if ALL of the details were included, the movie would probably be about 8 hours long. I just wonder how directors decide WHAT to cut out - because you're right, they do seem to cut out some of the most important parts! I can't think of any examples right now (as far as Harry Potter goes..) but I'm sure I will later. lol.

I like to read the book but I prefer the MOVIE version. It's because the movie just takes more or less 2 hours of my time. I don't have much time to read the entire book. That's why. And also, the special effects on the movie are very interesting.
