I used silver pie plates filled with water and dish soup. placed them on the carpet and put an electric Christmas candle next to them. They ended up catching a lot of fleas over night. So I continue to use them everynight to keep them away.

That is a great tip for getting rid of fleas. I have heard of it before, but have never really tried it. I will definitely have to remember how successful you have been in getting rid of those nasty fleas. I don't have a dog right now, but when I do have a dog...I will remember your tip. Thanks.

wow, I never heard of that but that is great it worked out for you and you are getting rid of the fleas. We had a cat that had gotten fleas and we had to bomb the house 7 times (all in 3 months) and got flea medicine for the cat for 3 months... and we still ended up tearing out the carpet in our room because of them... they wouldnt die!!! luckily we dont have the cat anymore...so no more flea problems either.

Nice. I've tried several things from this site http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/895211/flea_treatment_for_dogs_know_your_options.html?cat=53 but i dont want to use chemical based solutions. Can you post a step by step procedure on how i can make the same thing... I would like to try that one. Thanks.

I never know there is such way to get rid of the fleas, it's good to use such a natural and affordable way to get rid of the fleas, instead of spending much money to buy any solutions. I do not have carpet in my house, also I let my dog wears a anti-flea collar, so that it won't get any fleas.

That sounds like a great idea. Have you ever tried adding some crushed garlic to their food? It worked great with the Rotties and Pit Bulls we have / have had. The fleas take one bite and immediately hop off, something about the garlic completely repulses them. I also mash up some raw broccoli and add it to their food to prevent ear infections. I hate the idea of having to use a chemical on them but they love being outside and so far none of the dogs have turned their snout up at garlic or broccoli in their food.

Good for you, you didn't have to use poison. Keep it up.

Ill have to remember that if mine ever get them again. That sounds like a real good non toxic way to get rid of them.

that is wonderful I am so happy it is working for you, once those fleas get out of control it is so hard to get rid of them.

well hopefully it will get rid of all the fleas but I do think that you should also get your dog some flea meds like revolution or frontline plus ... That way what the dish soap doesn't get the meds will take care of.

I am glad you were able to find something inexpensive to get rid of the fleas your dog brought into the house. Fleas can be a pain to deal with. I would keep it up until there are no fleas in the pie plates in the morning.
