I have a question for both the smokers and the non-smokers of mylot. There is a new product on the market called an electronic cigarette. Here is the background: An electronic cigarette is a nictone delivery device. It gives a smoker the feel and taste of smoking, but there is not tobacco, no smoke, no smell, no fire, none of the bad stuff that has made smoking banned from public places. Basically it is a stick with a battery. You add a nicotine cartridge to the battery and you inhale just like you are smoking and the craving to smoke is gone. There is a steam that is released that is just like the steam that comes off your coffee cup in the morning. I have been using this device for about a week now, I am even allowed to use it in my office, no more standing out in the rain for me. I use to smoke almost 2 packs a day. Now I am down to 5 real ciggarettes a day and once I figure out the legistics of this electronic smoking thing, I will put the real ciggarettes away forever. I have been smoking for over 20 years and just like that because of these electronic cigarette I can just put down my habit and walk away. My question for all of you is, are you opposed to electronic smoking? I have seen the discussions about how much the mylot members hate smokers, but how do you feel about this new thing that is helping people leave their smoking habit behind.

Sounds good to me. But are there no side affects? Is it really healthy? I hope so. I don't smoke much anymore, seeing as it is so expensive. And I feel better too. I have stopped because of money. That helps too. Only when we are out with friends, I might still smoke. But we hardly go anywhere anymore. So, I am as good as clean. Take care, good luck.

As far as anyone can tell there are no side effects and there is not second hand anything. I like the fact that it does not smell. I have heard from a number of smokers and ex-smokers but I have not heard from any non-smokers and I was really interested if they think this meets the criteria.

I am a smoker and this is something I would be interested in trying. How much are these devices? Seems like a healthier alternative for the smoker-haters so if they complain about it, it obviously means they are just looking for something else to complain about.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing as a read couple of these posts. I don't understand why people insist on trying to control everyone. If it does not effect your health, then it should not bother you if someone else does it. I am an adult,I make my choices whether others agree with it is not relevant. It will cost about $100 to get started but after that you can get the equivelant to 1 carton, for $20.

I think it sounds great but the initial outlay for the kit is a bit much. If you dont mind me asking how long have you smoked? I have smoked for over 20 years and I find it really hard to quit, I want to because they are so expensive, but I am afraid to go out this much money and then it not work.

I am a non smoker and heard of this months back. When i first heard of it i wanted to buy a box of them for all the smokers in my family. I still do because it would save them so much money. I think its great but i really dont know a whole lot about it.

If you family members are not ready for them they will not work. When you first start using them, they have a really sweet taste and you have to sort of work through it. Honestly now, a regular ciggarette tastes really bad to me and I guess that is a good thing.

I quit cold turkey over 10 years ago, hardest habit I ever had to kick. I say if it helps you get off the damn things then go for it. Anything that keeps you from smoking is ok in my book. How expensive are the cartridges and the unit? How often do you have to change them? I'm asking cause I'd really like my hubby to quit and maybe this would work for him as well. Good luck to you :)

You get 5 Cartridges for $9.99 and each cartridge is equivelant to 1 pack of ciggarrettes. The unit it self costs anywhere from $75 to $150 depending on which on you choose. In the long run I will save money, but I had to make an initial investment first. :D

well thats good, you probably seen the light from your smoky grave...quiting smoking is really tough but putting to an end to a thing that have been a part of you for years is really tougher, many people try to quit smoking and yet ending up to broken promises, disappointed wife and children, you see some quit because they have cancer, and if you will ask them they regret they have smoked.....so you see your very lucky...thats what we call "mind over butts"
