My 4 1/2 year old daughter gets very upset when she can't do something. I mean almost to the point of having a panic attack because she can't take a shoe off, can't get her shirt on, can't buckle her seat belt. Any time she has problems she just screams and crys. She appears to be legitmately upset. Has anybody else encountered this. How did you deal with it or fix it.

Honestly, usually when I get a new kitten, I give them a bath as you did and then I spray a towel down with Bio-Groom, which can be puchased at any pet store, I then wrap the kitten in the towel for about 20 minutes while I pet him or her and give them love. Thank you I understand the pick the battle thing, but why did the "I can fix it" not start until after we were married. We lived together, we commute together, we do everything together and we have for the last 3 years, why now after we have rings on our fingers does he choose to start trying to fix.

The problem I find with trying to calm her down first, is A. she doesn't hear me once she gets like that unless I raise my voice or B. She won't calm down until I do whatever it is for her, then I can't teach her how to do it so she won't get upset next time. That is how I feel about my daughter. She is a smart kid. Her logic skills are outstanding and has just begun reading, but the act of taking a shirt off kills her. It is frustrating for both of us.
