What does P.S. means in the letters?

Philippines

I just had my my 2nd topic before this, and put a P.S. remark at the bottom. We do all know what, P.S. means, more of definition. Which means, the last important thoughts we had, like a note, or a reminder. Depends on how you put that.. In Philippines, a friend of mine back in HS or Elementary I guess, we had talked about this and suddenly thought of P.S. as "Pahabol Sulat" in Tagalog, in English refer as "The Catch Letter" (I don't know if that is the right term though.. I can't think of other English word for this, I hope though it's clear somewhat..). Anyway, ever thought what P.S. stands for? I heard of this before, but just too hard to recall.. Can somewhat help me here? Lol Just thought if someone ever wonder... Especially to ones who often use this, like me!

I believe it means "post script," such as anything you left out in the main part of the letter in want to add. I usually use it for this or to highlight something important I want the reader to know. Hope this helps.

You are exactly right tcycharmy. Not only do you know what it means, but you use it in the proper manner. Cheers.

Thanks. I wasn't completely sure, but I'm glad I got it right. It's one of the things people use, but don't really know why they use it.

Although I see where several ppl have told you the meaning I had to add that ppl that get letters from me often get not only a PS at the end of the letter but a PSS, PSSS, and even a PSSSS b/c I tend to forget things LOL At least I can always spot my letters by all the PS's. I always thought it meant "post script", a thought added after the letter was finished and you thought of something else. PS is over-used nowadays, like most other things, and a favorite marketing ploy.

PS is Post Script. A script which you forgot to put it before in the body of the/ your letter and you remember it before putting the letter in the envelope. It gives a nice touch too..hheehehe

Okay, here's my "Pahabol Sulat" after both responders gave a very good definition and link. Actually, got nothing to add. I just really find it amusing that PS has the same exact equivalent in Filipino.
