Does it ever get humid where you live?

In Maryland, summers can get very hot and humid. It sometimes seems like the average temperature is over 90 degree Fahrenheit, and sometimes much more than 100 degrees. I know it gets much hotter than that in other areas, but does where you live get humid? The heat isn't so bad, but when it's mixed with humidity, it's hard to breathe and seems much hotter than it actually is. I feel dirty when it's that humid, even when I have just stepped out of the shower! Also, it seems like it's harder for the air conditioning to work and fans don't do much to combat the humidity. During the summer here, more often than not, we experience humidity, but I wish we had more dry heat. How is it in your area?

Helllo my friend Bethany1202 Ji, As an Indian, all coastal areas like Kolkata/Chennai and Mumbai are humid, including my place in rainy season UP . Here are some from web : Most Humid http://www.funtrivia.com/askft/Question91651.html The most humid cities on earth are generally located closer to the Equator, near coastal regions. Cities in South and Southeast Asia seem to be among the most humid.Kolkatu- India,Kerala- India and Bangkok Location: Ellsemere Island, Canada Reason: Yes, Canada. We understand your immediate disbelief, so allow us to break it down -- you were probably expecting to see the Amazon get this honor. True, it does feel like you're breathing in an aquarium there. But like the saying goes: It's not the heat, it's the humidity. Since our extreme weather destinations are based on terra firma, the northernmost land settlement is on Ellsemere Island, where the Canadian forces have a permanent base. May God bless You and have a great time.

Oh wow, does Oklahoma get humid. Of the humid states I've been to, Oklahoma and Florida are the absolute worst. In the summer I can get tired by being outside ten minutes. Okay, okay, five minutes - I'm a wimp. The humidity just zaps the strength from me. And of course here, humid weather means strong possibilities of tornadoes are around.

It does get humid here wich is usually late June thru August. Sad thing is we wait all winter to get rid of the snow, enjoy spring, and then hide again once the heat kicks in of summer. Gosh I must be getting old, I remember as a kid I'd spend everyday all day outside doing my thing without a worry, now if I start to sweat I'm running into the airconditioning.

Hi Bethany ! I live in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai and the humidity is very high, it only lasts for 4 months though, but during this time i feel sticky and drained.. temperatures reach to 48 degrees mid day then goes down to 37 degrees at night. I really miss the rain ! Air conditioning is fitted everywhere you go, shops, malls almost every where, but the thing that annoys me is that i feel tired from going in and out, AC / Humidity and same again. Yesterday i jumped into the pool with all my clothes because it was so hot, didn't even bother to wear swimming clothes! waiting for September to come ...... take care !

I am from Guangzhou, China. We have the rainy season and it can be very humid here. Actually this is the humid time now here. I don't like this kind of season because of the bad weather. If it rains, then we have to stay at home. And our clothes will take longer time to be dry. I love China

In Cyprus in the summer it gets very humid over 100 degrees easy. Sometimes it goes close or beyond 130. Though in London 100 degrees at the most usually. I used to think England as a cold country, though I do think that weather and climate change are real events.

I live in Hong Kong and it is exactly the case as in here. I can't bear the humidity here, so I need to keep the air-conditioner on in summers. I feel dirty as well, and the smell of the humid air are not that fresh as the dry air too. I felt I can bear a much higher temperature than normal when I went inland, the air is drier and sweating is not a difficulty anymore.

Hi Bethany, I was born in Maryland (Baltimore) and my parents had a home on the eastern shore and we spent many weeks there. I mostly grew up in New Jersey. I know that weather all over is getting hotter which means more humidity. I live in Tennssee and I would have to argue that our humidity in the south is much more intense than mid-atlatnic or northern states. The humidity around August is so thick you can actually see it and you could cut it with a knife. It made me turn to my inhaler a few times several years ago. I felt that I could not get air into me! Fans move air around, if the air is hot and muggy air, that's what gets moved around. The only way to remove humidity from your house is to use a de-humidifier along with a/c. A/c units remove the moister from the air. We are just apporaching summer now and it's time for the short haircut, because humidity plays rough and tough with hair!

Well, we live in Arkansas. The temperature here is hot and humid during the summer months. Much like Maryland, there are times when the temperature is over 100* with the humidity upwards of 80-90%. It can be quite unbearable. This is my favorite time of year that we are in now. The humidity has been about 60% and the temperatures a balmy 70-75* Absolutely beautiful! We have thunderstorms rolling in though.

We have 3 seasons here - hot, hotter & hottest. OK, maybe I should say it's 4 which includes the rainy season, haha!~But mostly it's hot all year round in Malaysia as we're at the equator, erm, I mean humid.....I understand what you mean by the shower thingy. It's just like after taking a bath it still feels so sticky that you need to have another one right away, right? Haha!~

yes, it can be humid were I live as well. I live in PA, so it's not too far from MD. I think that the humidity can be extremely stuffy in the summer months. I also agree that it seems like it is harder to breath on these days. Hopefully, this summer will not be too bad.

It's raining season now so it's wet everywhere. Water level in rivers and low land seems to rise a bit too so we've been on look out for flood possibility. Once this season's over, the drought season will begin (that's when we'll start wishing that the rain should arrived soon)
