I don't have a garden but I do have a few house plant that looks a little horrible and was told that I need to prune it. Anyone knows about house plant? How often do I have to prune it and how often do I have to fertilize it? Can anyone help? I fertilize them twice a week but I don't really know how to prune them.

It depends on what kind of plant it is. You might just need to re-pot it. I don't prune mine very much at all. As far as fertilizing goes, there should be directions on the package, if you use the commercial kind.

I really have no idea how to prune it. What kind of plant is it? Honestly, if it's growing just fine, I wouldn't fertilize it but once every two weeks! Plants generally don't need fertilized that often unless they're having growth issues!

I grow tomatoes and chillies in pots, but they don't grow well.

There's no set schedule for pruning your house plants, it just depends on what kind of plant it is and if it's looking wild or ragged. Trimming it will help it to branch out and look fuller but don't trim it back too much. I like using those fertilizer spikes that you stick into the soil next to the plant which release a steady amount for the plant.

Thanks for your advice, I think I should start trimming it.
