Some of my friends here now that my OS was Windows Vista, the reasons they know is because i pester them incessantly with doubts, as how to overcome my problems in my computer.. Of late,my pc was testing my patience to the core,.very slow start up and shutdown, control panels not working, and windows not checking for updates, and the list goes on..and i then i decided its time to cut loose and ditch out the existing OS and roll back to Windows XP sp2.Just now finished formatting my pc with new OS,after facing a lot of trouble in changing the OS.. Have you ever changed from higher version to lower version because it suits you more conveniently? P.S : Never ask me if Windows XP SP2 i have is original one or not!

I use windows XP sp3, then I skinned it with a Vista skin complete with sidebars and gadgets and all. My friends can't even tell the difference.

Vista os is a total failure from Microsoft side. The most popular desktop client operating system launched by Microsoft are windows 98 and XP professional.Windows Millennium edition and Windows Vista is a failure from Microsoft.I once installed Windows Vista and then uninstalled it because of slow system performance.Hardware requirement for running Vista is more and there is lot hardware and software compatibility problems with Vista. If your pc is having more hardware resources like more than one GB of ram and high end processor, then you can run vista with out much problem.

Don't tell me! I am so scared now to rad through this Venkat! As you know I use VISTA at home. Even though its working fine, instead of being bit slow at times I am fine with it. But I have heard from my friends that they have down graded to XP and WIN 98. One question. Do the problems that you had been facing was due to VISTA or other associated problems?

Personally, I don't like windows vista. It's annoying, hard to navigate and difficult to configure! My husband had Vista on his laptop, but we took it off and put linux on it. My computer is a Windows XP, however, and it suits me just fine!
