How would you feel about your home or garden changed without your knowledge?

In recent years there have been some TV series made about completely changing peoples' homes or gardens without telling them first. Family or friends called in the programme-makers to dig up gardens and re-design them whilst the owners were on holiday, or re-decorate their house. I didn't watch many of these, as it seemed ridiculous. The people would come back from holiday and say 'oh, I can't believe it - isn't this wonderful'. I did see one programme where the owners weren't happy at all. I would be absolutely appalled if someone did this to me! How would you feel?

yeah I know the show you're talking about. There was one show where the owner did not like the renovations made in her house and she was really mad. But I think it was the daughter of the owner who approved of the renovation. But these are shows and maybe some of it are scripted.
Anyways, if it happened to my house, I would be glad to have it renovated as long as the results turned out to be nice and according to my taste hehe
. I'm sure experts knows what's modern and current when it comes to house renovations. If it turned out not nice, I won't get that mad cause I know they mean well. It just happens that we're of different tastes.

The chances of the result being to your taste are tiny though when you think about it, and there might be things that you really liked and didn't want changed.

Well it woul be different for some people, because some wouldn't like their things to be touched without their knowledge, like me, i'd simply be pissed off...Some people aren't really particular about such things just so long as their gardens are nicely done.. =\ ohwells, if i made that garden all by myself, i would kill that person who went and redo it.. ={

If such thing were to happen with me I would just sue them whoever did so without my permission. My garden is my garden and I keep it as i like and you have no right to trespass.

Personally i don't like or feel changing the looks of my garden or other stuff without my knowledge because it's like invading my privacy. i just wanna make sure i have there is my own decision and i made it simply because i like how it looks like and if ever someone/ someone else wanna give some idea on how to improve its look or design Im open with that provided they will not go beyond that or without my knowledge.
