Roast Potatoes

April 12, 2009 11:17am CST
My husband, yes we do fight over who cooks dinner, we both love to cook, anyway the other week he found this tip. When doing roast potatoes, after boiling in a pan of water for 10 mins, drain and then toss in a little semolina, it gives you the crispest outsides you have ever had. Also, I have three colour peppercorns in my cupboard, freshly ground they smell wonderful and will be joining the semolina on the potatoes. My mouth is watering and yes we both enjoy eating as well.

sounds good...it is also good to here that you husband likes to cook also. My husband and me like to cook also, and it is very enjoyable when we are both in the kitchen creating something together, but we do not fight over it we just both pitch in and work on it together

We only play fight over who cooks dinner, I do hope nobody ever seriously fights over cooking dinner. I can't say too much to my husband as it was him that turned me from someone who could cook into a person who loves to cook. Lets face it, if love is involved it has got to be good. I am so pleased to hear that your husband, like mine likes to cook. It is good to have the odd night off. Don't you agree?

Yes it is nice to share cooking with someone, it is one thing that has brought my husband and me closer together, and it is great that we have this time to do something together that we both enjoy doing,

Sounds absolutely wonderful! I bought some new baby potatoes at the grocery store on Monday. When my daughter's and their boyfriends came for dinner, I boiled these new potatoes on the stove until they were tender. We ate them skins and all with a little bit of butter and some cheddar cheese!
