No free time to do excercises and now a visible "Yummy Tummy". I am getting overweight. Friends suggested to go for a Balanced Diet and count your food by calories not by bites. Do i need to follow their advice ? I haven't decided yet.

Counting calories definitely works. i don't really do it much anymore but I have before and I will tell you if you are looking to lose some weight counting your calories is the way to go. You will lose weight faster and be able to keep it off longer if you count the calories rather than following a diet that limits your foods or makes you take pills. I became a diabetic a few years back and really ballooned up well I thought my god, I need to lose weight so I talked to my doctor and he told me to just count calories so I did for about a few months and actually lost weight. Now your not going to lose weight overnight or lose a ton at once but this is the healthy way to do it and keep it off. You have to make sure you count the calories in your drinks as well like if you drink soda and such, try to replace it with water(no calories) then that allows you to be able to eat more throughout the day. Just get out a notepad and calculator and start counting. I lost about 40 pounds in about 4 months and that was over 2 yrs ago and I still haven't gained it back..now there is still more I would like to lose but that is my own demon :) \ Good luck and I know if you follow the calories it really will help you!

Hello Mr. Thin boy! i really don't remember what i did to gain weight. You too need to count your calories as well buddy. You need to count it to keep in check that you are taking more than enough calories to build your body.

I don't usually count the calories before eating. I know that I could probably stand to lose a couple of pounds but every metabolism is different. I realize that there are those out there that need to count their caloric intake and read what is on the labels on the foods that they buy. Sometime it isn't really any fun to have to watch every single thing you take in but it is sometimes necessary to keep fit and healthy. I know that drinking a lot of water is a great idea for trying to slim down and walking is important too because it is good for our hearts. There is going to be a lot of different advice out there. There are different things that work for different people and there are body types that are not all the same. It might be best to confer with your doctor about a weight loss or eating program. I wish you much luck.

Well i am trying to do one or two types of excercises from a few days but never considered to follow a balanced diet program. Thanks for the response.

Yeah you should follow your friends advice,i know its easy to say that take balanced diet but you know what its very difficult to follow all these advices as we are fully dependent on fast food or all those oily food we love such type of food items, generally we dont count food by calories but suddenly we realise getting overweight and its too late to change our habbit and becomes difficult too. same thing has happened with me i am still trying to take balanced diet and it is not getting possible for me. i am just fighting with my tastes.i personally advice everyone not to eat fast foods as once it becomes habbit means we face lot of health problems.
