Please can someone tell me about blogging?

I posted a discussion about this before, but only got one response. I want to know whether I should start a blog, how to start a blog, where to start a blog and what other people put on their blogs. Also if you have a blog, do you earn money from it? Do you enjoy it? So anything you can tell me about blogging would be helpful.

you can start blogging at blogger.com or wordpress.com (the most used and indexed ones) or you can download wordpress, install it and use it..
You need a Ideas to blog about, or what interest you more, like that you will not get Bored :)

Blogging is an art. you need to be creative and a great thinker to develop quality content. you can start blogging on any topic that interests you. but make sure you do not copy content from other websites because that will not pay you for your efforts.
You also need to attract people to your blog and so you that you can earn money. But for that you need to have a blog which interests people.
visit some good blogs on blogger.com and learn a bit on how people blog and try to learn something out of that.
then you can start a blog. just keep in mind that concept should be a good one because that can make a bad blog good and vice versa

Thanks. I would only want to put my things on a blog, but another thing I worry about is if people will copy my photos etc.

A blog is usually kept in conjunction with a website. It is a way to gather a following and get traffic to your website. Weebly.com is a good site where you can set up a website and a blog for free. You need to decide what your website is about and you can build it pretty much without any html knowledge. A good way to get more information about blogging would be to do a search on "articles on blogging" and read the articles that come up.

Thanks for that info, I have searched about blogging, but most articles just talk about it being like an on-line diary, never giving much information on ways to use it etc., I don't need a web-site, or I can't think what I would use one for.

My blog is on Blogger.com, up till recently it was mostly pictures of my kids and things about them for my family. However in the recent past it has become more of a focus on our struggles with having three children with Sensory Processing Disorder, which is on the spectrum. Since changing it to more of a focus on our life and the struggles we are having with dealing with spd times three it has become more popular etc.
