Would you stop saying that!

We all have words or phrases that we hate. I personally can't stand how everyone way overuses the phrase "going green." Uch. Enough! Turning off one light bulb after you walked out of the room when you got done peeing does not qualify you for a nobel prize. Move on! I also hate "grass roots" as in people powered. We're going green with our grass roots companies. Blah! "Thinking outside the box" also gets on my nerves. I want to shove the speaker IN a box and then bury them so deep in the earth that the heat from the earth's core will burn them beyond recognition. "Revolutionary." Why is it EVERYTHING is revolutionary? Having a strip on my husband's razor that fades to white when it's time to change the blade is not revolutionary. It's lazy. it also prevents some incidents of shaving burn, but it's NOT revolutionary. A revolutionary item starts a revolution. It starts a new way of thinking. It's a new way of doing things. A blue fade to white strip does NOT start a new revolution. Another one I hate is "Like." I work with kids, so I hear "like", a lot. I have one girl I have on probation that reports to me and I swear, I can't ask her anything without getting the Valley Girl response with about a dozen likes thrown in to a 5 word answer. What bothers you?

Hm you know I am not sure that any particular type of saying bothers me. I do know of sayings that bother some people and when that annoy me I tend to retort back with them. -lol-

I know that it's a serious issue and that it has effected almost all of us but I am REALLY sick of hearing 'recession' and 'economic downturn'. I understand that it is a huge deal but it seems like you can't read anything or have a discussion about anything without those words making an appearance. And I hear ya on 'going green'. Ohhh, a reusable grocery bag? Here's a hero biscuit for you! One phrase that I hate is 'I KNOW, right?'. What is that 'right' doing in there?
