Has anyone ever questioned your worship/praise?

"You don't know my story, all the things that I've been through. You can't feel my apin, what I had to go through to get here. You'll never understand my praise. Don't try to figure it out, because my worship...is for real! I've been through to much not to worship Him!" These are the lyrics to the song 'My Worship is for Real' on the album entitled 'Tell the Devil I'm Back' by Bisho Larry Trotter. I am starting this discussion because in spite of all that we've been through and all that people know or think that they know about us, your worship should be real. Everday of our lives we have to ask God to forgive us. Your sin can as 'big' as committing adultery or as 'small' as lying to someone you love, but when you worship God,make sure it's real! Most of us have been through so much in lives and thoe who believe know that if it had not been for Him, we wouldn't be where we are today. There are so many people who know our past, sit in the congregation and judege whether we are in true worship or just playing follow the leader. The preacher, worship leader, or speaker says raise your hands, so you raise your hands. I am saying all of this in order to get you to think. Are you just playing follow the leader? Do you get so emotional during church that you aren't in true worship, you're only overwhelmed by your emotions? Better yet, do you judge others in service who worship, but because you know their history/present sins you begin to think that they are faking? Think about ii! Are you one of these people?

I will give you the benefit of the doubt about Your Worship, but I expect you to have the Grace to do the same for me. No One on this Earth, (and that includes You) has the right to question me (or anyone else) as to whether or not my (our) worship is for real. We all are entitled to our privacy, (and let me assure you Spiritual Beliefs are, or can be, Private. How Big my Sin is, Has nothing whatsoever to do with you. You are not my Spiritual Advisor, and I did not ask for your advise. I have no use for Missionary types telling me,- " You aren't in true worship." Each person is entitled to worship however he/she pleases, and your Post certainly did not Please! Its NONE of YOUR Business whether I am Faking! Or whether I am "One of Those People!"

I am so sorry if I offended you. That definitelty wasn't my intention. I was honestly just expressing my feelings. I try not to judge anyone and I am sick of people judging me because they think they know eveything about me. I wasn't trying to be anyone's spiritual advisor or anything like that. This was just to spark a conversation and to see if there was anyone else out there with the same concerns. Once again, I am so sorry about that I offended you!

Very nicely put Barehugs...and you are so right...nobody has the right nor should anyone be so arrogant as to question the beliefs of another especially if their beliefs differ...

I do my best to NOT judge anyone!!! Some days I do good...others not so good!!! As far as how somebody else worships, I believe that is between them & their God. The way I choose to worship won't necessarily be the way you choose to worship. I don't want anyone telling me how I should choose to worship, so I don't even pretend to tell them how to worship. To me that is a personal & private decision between the person & their maker!!!

I agree with what you've said. It definitely is between that person and God! I personally try not to judge. There are times when I slip up and start thinking is that person faking or not, but then I realize that I wouldn't want anyone to think that about me. Thanks for your contribution to the discussion!

Are you just playing follow the leader? LOL hell no...I'm not a follower in any area of life and havent been since I was young and that includes my personal spiritual path..it is solely my own and you'll never find anyone who believes or follows exactly as I do...that is how it should be IMO Do you get so emotional during church that you aren't in true worship, you're only overwhelmed by your emotions? I dont go to church..I'm not a Christian nor do I believe in god..or sin for that matter that said, my personal path is for real...does that mean its suitable for anyone else though? absolutely not...because they arent me..just as their path wouldnt be suitable for me since I'm not them..

I am very lucky to have found a House of Worship where no one seems to have an agenda. No matter what service you go to you are welcome and greeted as an old friend. I tend to go to a weekday service because I like to go when there is no big crowds and when it is daytime. Our religion does not require attendance on the Sabbath. During the service I tend to forget that there is anyone around me and go into my own little world. Even when it is time to respond or sing I am still almost by myself. It is very peaceful. I like it.. Shalom~Adoniah
