I Took an "Intelligence Test" in Facebook and Ended up Paying.

In the end of the test they asked for my mobile phone number and I was dumb enough to give it thinking that I would get the results on the phone.. Then I got to some info that this service would cost some money and I called the company immediately to stop their "service". It was about answering some knowledge questions.. When I got my phone bill, I saw a post of about $11 that I was billed by this company and called them again. They said that their service was stopped but I had to buy for the 3 SMS they had sent me....I never - as far as I know agreed to pay anything. So, if you do not want to pay for something you don´t want to have, never, ever give your phone number to any offers in Facebook or any other site..

Thanks for leting us know of your experience! How tricky the internet and people can be? But we can learn much from the experiences of others, good and bad. Thanks for alerting the Mylot community. That way others won;t get an unpleasant surprise. I have answered those kind of challengs before but never put in my phone nimber. But I still was curious as to the results of the test. Now I know what the ploy is!

Many tests are there just for fun, and they don´t ask for your telephone number - so far I have only found this test that cost me some money.. As they say in Finland, you have to pay for learning things.... In this case it is true. I guess you remember the wise man in the Proverbs who sees the danger and hides.. Well, I guess we sometimes have to make mistakes to learn to become wiser in the future..

yeah i was almost tricked into doing this when my friend convinced me to take the "iq test" when it asked me to enter my number i was weary. i only have a certain amount of texts a month (for some reason i was not able to get unlimited texts with verizon on the plan i have) and so i decided to read the small print. it's a good thing i did because otherwise i would have fallen victim to the same trap. i'm glad i didn't just give me number without reading, because i would have been very, very pissed afterwards.

Yup, I think I learned to read the small print in the future.. Seems we are never too old to learn, by the way..
