Only government can fix our current situation, I mean that is what we are told, right? Free market economics got us into this mess, and that is what we are told, right? GM keep making cars that no one wanted, and that is what we are told, right? Banks will not lend, and that is what we our told, right? Since we can no long trust capitalism, corporations, and banks to do the right thing, what is left to but our trust into and onto? Government, like Obama said only government can fix our current situation. Well then why do we not just nationalize everything, have a government bureaucrat instead of a CEO run business, because we know what excellent business skills government officials have. Instead of wasting time talking about regulations, because any regulation can be overcome with enough resource, just take over the companies. Why not, if it is worth doing it is worth doing right.

If the Government would really give the breaks to the entrapanuers and get these business tax's down ect, the economy can heal itself. They have to untie the hands of the American people, by stimulating the new business growth. They have to impact the areas that would start placing now and near future cash into the hands of the American people. If they would put their stimulus into the direct hands of the people who will open new companies , and give the tax breaks and incentives, that is change we need. Have you seen any stimulus in these areas given? In order to drop food prices, they have to increase production and have more competition to drop prices. Have they agreed to do this? There should be major tax breaks in these areas and more like them. Bring back American made, and make it possible for Americans to have those companies and hire. Major tax breaks , and stimulus in the right places. We have lost so many companies to foreign soil, that you cannot even buy an American made tv here anymore. We need our indepedence back, but that means the Government helping cut costs so that these companies won't need to go overseas. People would have jobs.

Gew, the market should not be polarized. This is not a free market vs. central planned economy issue. Neither are very good ideas in their purest form. The free market has a tendency to erode its own requirements for it to work, such as perfect competition. It also largely ignores any sort of social context. There is a required place for government in the market, but that doesn't mean everything must be nationalized.

Well see here is the problem I believe in absolutes, green is green red is red. True you can mix the colors but one must dominate the other and at the same time destroying both colors. The same thing goes for mixing government and the market. Government makes the rules so it will dominate the market over time, which we are seeing now. The problem is that every country that has tried what you suggest has meet economic problems, because mixed economic can not meet the needs of the consumer as well as a pure free market could. Let us use another example, a car. You want a certain car and you have enough money for the car to be produced. A government official says that we do not want that type of car manufactured. Now you are the consumer but which opinion matters the most, yours or the government official?

Personally it does make you wonder don't it? When they did all of these Bail outs, and now no one is doing what they are supposed too, and still cutting back while the Big wigs continue to profit, it really does not make sense. I really think we are beginning to see more of problems in some ways than Good, and I really wonder when it will work out for the good as well.

Well, the free market didn't cause this mess... government interference in the free market did. The free market has not existed in America fr quite some time. The government interference in the free market has been determining how the markets work, and the endless regulations on it has ensured that the free market was not truly free. It was the government that failed, not the markets. What qualifies 0bozo to run anything, considering he has never run anything before? He definitely is no expert.
