Yes, I'm a Christian.

Who's to say that science is the way for us to advance? By scientific terms, it's better to let the weak and unsucessful die off so they will not have children and further make the human race weaker. By scientific terms, we should be doing everything we can to advance human DNA and human evolution. But is that really helping humanity advance, or does that make us like wild animals? I think reli... |

I am a Christian and my husband is Muslim... I never left my religion, in fact I've only grown stronger in it. It was a tough thing to put my parents through, especially my dad, but I think that has more to do with the discrimination Americans have against Muslims more than the fact that he was of a different religion. But once they got to know him they grew to love him and accept him. I don't ... |
 | murderistic responded to a discussion called Is "free will" the big difference between humans and other animals? in religion. 1 day ago
I believe that what makes humans different from other animals is our ability to think abstractly. Without the ability to think abstractly we would not be capable of language, artwork, religion, science... we probably couldn't function as a species without our ability to abstract, because all the nooks and crannies in our brains would be pretty useless without bodies that work to our own benefit... |

Thank you for this! I haven't done much research on the early church other than what is in Acts (OK, I took a class about the history of the church but I don't remember much from that haha), but it is clear that early Christians took the teachings of Jesus quite literally. So it does not surprise me at all that they took a stance of nonviolence, like Jesus did.

If you want to hear the results of unbiased studies, you shouldn't be asking in religion. Haha. I frankly have no idea what the results of the studies are nor do I care. It doesn't matter how science explains homosexuality. Homosexuality is not an addiction like alcholoism is. It's a sexual preference. I'm sure there are people out there who aren't actually homosexual but who chose to live like... |

Oh, and a further note, although we are a denomination we do not discriminate against other denominations. Because of our value of community we partner with churches of other denominations in the community. We even have occasional joint services! |

No, it doesn't mean that, and I find your comment a bit offensive. It should have been phrased in a question, rather than you telling me what I must believe. But I'll ignore that.
We have the undeniable knowledge for human evolution. Humans evolved from Homo Erectus, who evolved from a more primative hominid (NOT an ape, as Christians seem to blindly claim). God has left us the evidence of ... |
