How do you react to other people's racist jokes?

Note: this is not a place to start making jokes about other races/people Some people are completely offended by these and some people can laugh them off easily. Like for me, I'm asian but when my friends make the jokes, I can easily laugh it off. When other people that I don't really know start doing this, then I get mad easily because sometimes you don't know if they actually mean it or not. I usually ignore people and don't take it too seriously, unless they constantly bug me about it.

I'm blonde and I get blonde jokes so much...you have no idea. If I knew an asian joke...I'd tell you one. You need to be able to laugh at yourself. It's a joke. it's no big deal. Some people really do mean it when they tell the jokes...there are people that really do think blondes are just dumb....i don't get offended. My getting offended isn't going to change their opinion. It's only going to make me feel bad so why bother.

It all depends on the context. One thing is to tell a joke (as with "blonde jokes" which imply that all blondes are dumb) and another is to say something that would hurt a blonde you are talking to. Racial jokes have always existed. I recieve jewish jokes and german jokes and latin amerivan jokes by mail all the time. Most of them are not witty and it irritates me some because in a siubtle way, a race is being tagged.

I think it all depends on the delivery, jokes can be put across in a funny way which I don't think many can do, some people can be offensive just in the delivery..i am not really fond of bringing people down in jokes, I just don't think it is funny so i guess it all depends, it would be good if everyone was like you, I think things sometimes have gone too far in the racist area these days.
