Can Hot Wings Be TOO Hot?

My husband and I ordered wings from Swiss Chalet last night. We love their wings! I ordered mild ones, and my husband wanted the hot ones. I've often complained that the stuff my husband likes is too spicy for my taste, however the wings last night were even too much for him!! I didn't think he'd ever find something that would be twoo spicy. I tasted one of his hot wings, and thought that the sauce was so hot it was EVIL!!! We ate some ice cream after, and that seemed to cool us off. Have you ever had wings that were just TOO HOT TO HANDLE? What did you do with the leftovers?

I've never had them too hot, just too mild. Though I did have a buffalo chicken sandwich tonight that I didnt' like, because it was just chicken in a wrap with buffalo sauce and no lettuce or tomato and not enough blue cheese dressing. Any hot wings are too much without the blue cheese, you need both for the right taste. If you had to eat ice cream afterwards and it was actually painful, I'd say it was too hot!

No, I've never had hot wings which were too hot for my taste. I guess either the mix was different, or the chilis of an especially hot variety. I'm surprised he managed to get through them that hot. I prefer hot to mild because there's a great difference in the flavour and mild doesn't seem any hotter than Kentucky fried coating. Brightest Blessings.

Oh yes, hot wings can be too hot! We got some a few years back that where hotter than fire (and we, kids and I, all love 'hot' foods). We took the leftovers home (almost full order) and I tried washing the sause off, honestly, put them in a bowl in the sink and ran water on them for several minutes. Older boys reheated after they drianed a bit but then were still hotter than most 'hot' wings we've had.

i like spicy foods also..i realize that when a person always eat spicy foods they tend to be numb with the spiciness of the food..i eat spicy food everyday till one day it feels like nothing is spicy to me anymore..i guess thats what happens to your husband..his taste buds came numb with the hotness..

I'm a big wimp when it comes to hot and spicy stuff. I can't even handle the medium. I've see people add hot sauce to hot wings and thought they were crazy, my eyes were watering just from sitting near their plate. I don't mind a little spice, but there comes a point where that's all you taste, and in my opinion, then you might as well just drink a bottle of Tabasco.

I just read your discusion, that's funny! Yes I have had wings that was too hot, they would be so hot you have to run and get some water, or a drink. Have you ever made them yourself, I always like to make them I make different kinds, the ones with Honey and Mustard, Teryiaki sauce, Barbecue Wings, the hot or mild ones. I even like the plain wings with Ranch Dressing, also they are good with some A-1 Steak Sauce. You should try all these favorites, i bet your husband and you will love it!

I love the boneless wings! Hubby and I eat at Buffalo Wild Wings occasionally and love it because we can get several different sauces and mix and match them. I prefer honey barbecues to the hot ones. I did accidently pour hot barbecue on my pulled pork sandwich the other night and about burned my mouth off!

I definately think hot wings can be too hot. I am more of a mild fan.

Hot wings, whether they be food from the supermarket or from the restaurant can be quite hot tasting, also the spice element or added ingredients inside the chicken can certainly be too hot. The after taste also when the chicken is cooked can be slightly overpowering. With the left overs I threw away, I dont tend to like eating the skins of these chicken wings.

Oh my, I love buffalo wings, I don't ever think they are too hot! I prefer boneless wings though, they taste much better to me and it is easier to eat really hot ones!
