I had been thinking about this for some days. If anyone has brilliant ideas to express, fell free to share. I really did not get this concept. I men- I have heard people telling 'I love my mom' and some others saying 'I like my mom'. Is there any difference?

I think that love somehow is a feeling that comes from deep inside of you. Liking someone or something is more like they give you a pleasant feeling. Also if you just like someone, you are not so likely to give your life for them as someone you love.

I realy admire your answer. It has got a philosophical touch to it. Yes, i believe that love comes from deep from the heart. And liking is something that simply gives a pleasant felling. But where does that come from? I hope you got the question. Or did you mean that both comes from the heart but love comes from an area deeper than liking? Please share your ideas. I'm interested.

It's hard to describe, but I think love produces an almost physical sensation from within, whereas liking is more to do with the brain being interested.

Love and like are completely two different thing. Although we often use them for similar meaning. Love is something that comes from heart and like is some thing which comes from our mind. Let me explain the hole thing. When you say that you love our mom or your girlfriend then you always say it from your heart. You like them also but there is something more thn that. You care for the person you love and always try to make them happy. You don't want to hurt someone whom you love. As I said liking is something that comes from our mind. When you like someone you just like the qualities the persom have. You may like a person who is entertaining and charming but may not care about them very much. In this case you like them but not love them.

Love and like are both closely related. Thou view are pretty far in expressing wat u actually feel. Wen u say u love someone, u have a feeling which makes u feel so special wen u are wit that person. Even the worst time becomes so special. It maybe your mom or girlfriend or boyfriend or anyone who u love. Whereas wen u like someone, u jus like them.. They are a part of your life n u always do everything u can to keep them around n keep them happy. Tats how i would define these two.

when you say you like a person there is a specific quality of that person that you admire. whereas when you love a person regardless of his good and bad qualities it doesnt matter to you. you love for whatever qualities he has
