Getting ready to go food shopping

I have all my coupons clipped and my reusable bags are ready! It's time to do the food shopping for the week. Lets hope I don't spend too much!

I believe coupons do really help to save money. You didn't ask, but I also think making a list and sticking to it also saves money. I, and my mom, spend too much when we make impulsive buys.

Yes, impulse buys really kill me, but lately I have been clipping coupons, and printing them off of the internet and checking out weekly flyers. There is one place I could buy food from that is a bit further away from my apartment, but I might go there for a couple things today because they have a coupon for cereal for $1.49 and noodles for $.19 cents. I will have to go to the regular supermarket, too, because they have put coupon doublers in the paper. There are four of them good to double any one dollar coupons. I think I might save a lot this week!

congrats on reusing them bags and making a list to stick too and using coupons. Very good stratergy to today's economy problems...

Good for you that you are re-using your bags. This really helps out the environment plus some stores will give you up to 10 cents per bag that you re-use. I re-use my bags all the time until they wear out and I also have a couple of canvas ones. I need to get a couple more so I won't have to get anymore plastic ones. The canvas ones can also hold alot and I usually can fit most of my shopping into both of them. I use coupons occasionally. I used to use alot more when I was getting the newspaper and would have quite a few of them in the Sunday paper. Some of the things I used to get at the grocery store I now get at the dollar store, like toothpaste, toothbrushes, cleaners, TP, and many other things. This has saved me a ton of money and most of the coupons I was previously using were for health and beauty aid anyway. I am so surprised at some of the stuff they have at the Dollar Tree that is good quality. A lot of name brands and such. Good luck with your shopping and saving money!
