Do you use correct grammar on the internet and myLot?
I try to, but I see a lot of people who don't bother with doing anything like capitalization. Nothing wrong with this just want to see how many people do and don't.

I try to practice proper grammar and punctuation no matter where I write. I am sure I make frequent mistakes, but I do try to keep it clean! It annoys me greatly when I see tons of mistakes in a response. I know we all make mistakes here and there but it bothers me when you can tell someone really doesn't care.

I totally agree with you. I have an Honours English degree so I'm used to reading and writing things that are grammatically correct. I understand there are younger people, or people who don't just care about grammar, but it's important for me to uphold my professional reputation on the Internet. The one place where I don't usually use proper grammar is when I'm talking to my friends on instant messenger. I have Carpel Tunnel so if I'm having a long conversation it's just more relaxing for me to type and not have to use the shift key all the time.

I am pretty decent about keeping up quality here on mylot. However, when texting it's a different story! The one thing I have to do though is use apostrophes properly..even when texting! My kids laugh at me, but I simple cannot leave them out!

For posting in mylot, I do not bother about grammar or spelling as much as article writing for writing sites.
Mylot does not even have spell check and it is very tedious to type in MS Word and paste the content over.
Anyway this is just a discussion forum, as long as the message is communicated, most people do not mind the capitalization or other mistakes.

I am a touch typist so therefore all my spelling and grammar is correct, so I take pride in my writings and in my work, I can be quite pedantic like that and if I see a single typo I will actually go back and correct it. The only bad habit I have is putting too many exclamation marks in my writing which I guess could be offputting! I tend to see glaring errors so often on the net. I guess it's down to the individual but typing responses in all capitals is a big no no!

The only thing that I dont use is apostrophes. I am sure that it annoys some people. I simply dont care about them! Other than that, I try to use proper grammar and spelling. It gets really hard to read some things that are so poorly typed! I realy hate that.
