Is it best to run before or after meal?

My husband and I have different opinions about running. He says it's best to run before meal cause it kills our appetite after. I think it's best to run a few minutes after meal cause we have some calories to burn after that. We both run for about an hour twice a week. What do you guys think?

I never run either before or after meals. I like to take slight walking after each meal so as not to make myself sit and get bulges.

Hi, yes it's usually walking first for warm ups before running. We all hate getting those bulges and love handles. Thanks for your response!

I would have to say that running burns calories and thus it'd be best to run after a meal of course with allowing the food to settle in the stomach for a few minutes to avoid stomach ache whilst or after running. Although it is good to exercise throughout the day, and before a meal is also great, I feel to benefit the most doing so afterward would be best. Drinking cold water during so as to not eat as much, is great too.

I would say After Meal, but not a few minutes... I mean a few hours. If you run after eating thing, it might hurt your stomach and you will feel so tired and lack of running because you feel so full. So, if you could after meal but few hours. Good luck

After a few hours??? That's too long...I would fall asleep which is not good. I usually run 20-30 minutes after meal but i don't drink after meal to avoid any abdominal pain. Thanks for your response.

Hello gicolet, I used to run 2 miles a day after I had a meal to keep up my energy. Due to an accident I can no longer run but now I do yoga(30 minutes each day for 4 days per week, 2 hrs total a week) and I do it before I have my first meal of the day.

That's true cause i don't like napping after eating meal like what my husband does. I want to keep up my energy too that's why I prefer to run after meal. Yoga is good. I used to do Pilates twice a week but I accidentally pulled a muscle on my left groin back in 2004. My left leg locks every now and then since it happened so I only do yoga once in awhile now. Thanks for your response.
