Do you live in a spooky house?

I'm having a mini freak out moment. I keep hearing footsteps on my front porch/deck and whenever I look out, no one is there. It's the middle of the day, so it's not like I'm missing something. I have heard strange things in our house since moving in; like the former owners are still living here. When we first came into the house on moving day, it felt as if someone else was still living here. In fact, it was so eerie, that I called out to make sure that no one else was in the house. The house felt inhabited. Spooky feeling. I guess it's just a creaky old place. Our new place is almost thirty years old and the floors are bad and pick up every sound, so maybe that's it. Have you ever heard spooky noises around your house? Do you live in an old house? Have you ever wondered if your house was haunted?

My last house was haunted by some spirits, but this one I don't think has any. Although I cannot guarantee that since Shelly's dog seems to bark in the middle of the night at "nothing". He just wakes up and starts barking and when I look there is nothing to bark at

When my daughter was a baby, she would stand up in her crib and hold onto the rail and smile up at the corner of the ceiling. She would gurgle trying to talk to someone. More than once I heard someone in the room talking with her. I believe in angels, so who knows. If it were a spirit, I would think it was my grandmother come to visit my baby. She passed a number of years before my daughter was born. Just come back to check on her. Couldn't blame a grammy for that.

Oh I think almost every house I have lived in has had strange going ons! The one I live in now is no exception I have had a lot of weird things happen and the house was filled with negativity which I felt from a couple of weeks after moving in four years ago. No one else seemed to be affected by it, but I did and there were times when I just wanted to leave and never come back. Recently though I cleansed every room and asked for the negative energy of the house to leave, sounds daft I know but you know the atmospere is definately different my feelings of the house not liking me have changed its hard to explain. Still have the odd noises, still have the feeling of someone being there but I know who it is now and I am not scared. But then my house is over 100years old so its bound to have had some stories happen in it, if only it could speak!

I think maybe you have a spirit either outside the house or in it, my friend. I think I would begin by finding out some of the history of the building and the area surrounding you, as that might throw some light on the matter. Perhaps ask the people who sold you the house if they had similar experiences. Whatever it is... I don't want to scare you because it appears not to be a harmful spirit. Try talking calmly and asking who it is and what they want from the house. Ask them to give you a sign. Be vigilant, and take note of any change in temperature, odours, or moving of objects, especially out on the decking. It sounds to me as though there might be a story connected to your decking or the outside of your home... as long as it stays out there, I guess there's not a great problem, but I'd have to know what it was. It could of course, be animals or the wind, as you say, or merely, the house settling, but that doesn't normally happen in the daytime. Brightest Blessings... don't be afraid, but I'd be curious! lol.

Um, no, not really. It's a really quiet area here, much quieter than where we used to live, so the first few nights when we slept here it was a bit freaky becuase we could hear all the little noises of the house and of course we weren't used to them!

I don't live in a spooky house... i live in an apartment building which is only 3 years old... so there is nothing spooky about that... but the house we lived in when were were growing up was quite old and made out of wood... and we always thought there was a ghost haunting that place... but did not really bother us... but when my mother decided to remove the big wooden rosary hanging by the foot of the stairs... that was when we started hearing creepy stuff... so she put it back and everything went back to normal... Below is a photo of an almost 100 year old house... that is the ancestral home of my boss which is being restored by missionary priests...

When I used to be alone at our lst house I would occassionally get spooked by noises outside. We lived in a village which was pretty much deserted so was full of ruins and empty houses. Animals would make noises and the wind would make things creak, all of which would make me twitchy if I were in that frame of mind!

I don't live in a spooky house per se, but i did prevent a neighbour from being murdered in this building, a few years ago. Not that the place is spooked, but after an experience like that (he was almost killed by another neighbour) when I hear any kind of a noise at all, considering the history, and what I had to do to stop this from happening, I jump about 6 feet up in the air!!! :)

Hello beautyqueen26, Oh, that's scary! I live in a condominium and when I first stepped in, nothing eerie happened to us. I remember one of the houses that I rented before. The first few months after moving in, I felt like someone's watching me. Whenever I was alone in the house, I got spooky feelings too. At nights, we heard a tenant upstairs moving chairs or table sometimes but, both units, above and below ours, were vacant! I love to watch horror movies and maybe because of that, I got this spooky feelings and related the incident like the ones I watched. I just don't know but I am really afraid of being alone at home!

Err No. I would love to live in such a house though. Such houses are usually very old looking and it would look really great if you keep the outside looking rustic while the interiors are all modern, with hi-fi gadgets and technology. And no I never wondered if my house was haunted because it's not bourne
