Do you rate your responder?

HI, I note most of people in here (mylot) don't rate responders. I thought it is a rule to rate people, whoever respond to your discussion right? I always rate whoever respond to my discussion. But for myself, I barely see my Star going up... it still the same 9 for the last few months. For people that have 10 stars, how do you get that? Do I have to get a great rate from others? If you have a choice, do you rate or not? I love all my responders and I always rate Great for them... I believe each one of us have their own opinion and it never be wrong. Do you think so? Please share... thank you for spending time reading my discussion.

I am really guilty of this. I have not been in the habit of rating people who respond to the discussions I posted. Now I feel badd because all of the people who responded to me were really nice. Thanks for the reminder!

I glade you have a 9... cuz of whoever rate you great. and you should do the same thing back to them. I am happy that everyone will do so when they see discussion or respond.

I am sure that I will rate the person who responded to my discussion if he/she deserves it. Since my first day in mylot, I have never rated a person's response negative. Because, such a condition never arised. Everybody came up with good responses. It is of course the specialty of mylot members which make Mylot really unique.

When you get a 7, doesn't mean someone rate you negative... but it is just lack of Rate or your respond is too short. I believe we have to make at least more than 3 sentences and give the best respond as possible.

Is that what it means? lol I never knew that. I've always thought it was because I people were offended by the super-conservativeness of my discussions or posts. Granted, I can be snarky, but hey...MyLot's a melting pot of opinions, beliefs, creeds, etc., right? :D

I always rate the discussion before responding to it and rate the responder before responding to their response. I'm not sure exactly how the rating works or how I have a 10 but I tend to positively rate no matter what. Unless they are just flat out rude and are abusing myLot users - then I may negatively rate them.

When I got my first star, I got a 9 and then I didn't know what happened then I got a 8. I was so upset about it but I just ignore and move on. These few months when my discussion start to raise and then my star reach to 9. So, keep up you will be there sometimes soon

I do rate my responders, I didn't used to know I have do pick at the unresolved tap. I have been doing this becaus eI think it is important to rate other responders to gain earnings and when they do their good job, I think they derserve to gain something especially they spend time to write their views.

Hi, your respond is too short and you should make more than that to get a good rate. But dont worry I got you in +. it is rule to make it longer than 3 sentences. Good luck

I always rate and add comments to most discussions. By doing this i have earned money and made good friends. You should not only rate a friends discussion, but you should also post a comment.

Yes, I also do that. As much as possible I also comment on replies that I like and also rate them. Mylotters deserve to get a good rate if they really are doing a good job posting quality comments and discussions.

hi! sadly, as you are already aware, not everyone do the ratings and not even the tags. yes, it's part of the guidelines. and i, for one, follow the rules. i put in appropriate rating for the discussions, responses and even the comments. i started with an 8 before and worked on getting the 9 and then the 10. i began to just select meaningful discussions and don't participate in others i have no interest with. i like seeing discussion posters who engage with the responders, coz i know that they would at least read my response even if i don't get a comment. when i do have spare time, i add more comments too. when you see longer threads in a discussion, meaningful thoughts and ideas... there is an exchange going on from one mylotter to another... that's what interests me. whether we share the same opinion and ideas or we disagree, it won't matter... it is a discussion and it's an open one. just continue enjoying mylot. don't worry about your mylot rating or reputation. the fact is, it can go up and down many times and we don't have a hold on it. just be active and enjoy doing quality and meaningful posts. goodluck! :)

I rate discussions but I had not thought about rating responses too. I have been here a while and you would think that I would have known to do that! Oh well I may just start doing that from now on. I usually read and reply to every response and give a Best Response to the one I think deserves it but so far I have not rated anyone, I'll be changing that now.

Yes everyone is supposed to rate people, but a lot of people don't because the rating system is so flawed. I rate people and don't think people should be rated a negative because a person doesn't agree with them. How can an opinion be wrong? A lot of people get stuck on a 9. I've known people for a year on it. The only thing I can think of that people get that 10 is they have a group of friend following them around and + rating them on everything. It isn't fair, but that's what happens here.

Hi, What is so funny about? We dont have star to rate like Ciao. But do you see + and - sign close to Respond to this Discussion? that how we rate everyone. I can see why you get a 4. That number in your star that close to your user name is your Rated. Now you know how well you do.

i rate but not all... if the response deserves a rating then i rate it... if it deserves a best response then i mark it best response. i dont rate all of the response in my discussions, i only rate those that i really find worthy of rating. now i know rating gives people that star, but then again if i just rate and rate and rate even if it is not worthy of a rate, then i am just fooling myself and the one i rated, because for me rating a person's response means they have really put more thought into writing that response. for me, it should be a challenge to each user to be more descriptive and creative on their responses so that their response will get rated a +.

yes I do. It is an effort taken by them to really give their heartfelt opinions and advice. It is on my part that I rate them. It does not take too much time. SO what is the harm.

Right, it is just there for you already. I believe most of them are not pay attention to this at all. I rate to be fair with everyone, and I believe pinion is never wrong. it is just short and long

You will see your star when you reach 100 posts. 73 is almost there. Rating is important in mylot, but most people dont pay attention. I can see most, almost everyone here doesn't rate.

I sometimes do rate my responders and all the ratings that I gave were positive. I never give negative feedback because I believe everyone deserve a positive rating for the effort in making a response.

I always rate any discussion I take part in. I think it is only right if someone has taken the trouble to start or respond to a discussion that they should be rated and get credit for it. I don't really worry about the stars on here to be honest, I just come here to have fun. I do miss my red star though as it matched my avatar.

Usually I don't rate my responders. To be honest, I don't know that I can rate users, earlier. But later when I came to know that I can rate users, I thought I should do it. But I didn't. This discussion is the first that I rate!

I believe each one of us has their own opinion, there is no right or wrong about it. If you don't feel right to rate them then just pass it on, if you feel it is great and good enough for you, then rate. I prefer to rate everyone that I respond to and start discussion, it will help with my post and my star.

Yes, I always rate my responders. I also rate good discussion topics and I also rate you positively because I like your discussion topic. At first I didn't know that we have to rate our responders. I was even wondering what was the plus and negative sign for. Later on, I learned from other mylotters that it is good to rate other mylotters. So now, I never fail to do that.

That's great... thank you very much about your comment. I didn't know at first too but when my star rate went down once, then I realized this does something. So I just start to rate and comment everyone.

ya most of them don't do it. its not yet a rule but its a courtesy and people don't know that they earn for it too. Don't worry you will get good stars someday. keep posting, someday people will like you and start rating you. good luck
