A young guy and his girlfriend had a serious quarrel over an infection the guy had recently and it was so bad that we had to ask what really happened. The guy had gone to a doctor to find out what was the cause of a sore that suddenly appeared on his lips,he was diagnosed as having herpes and this si an std ,he was so angry cos he said he never had two girkfriends but the only one he was with and the lady denied having any other affairs apart from the one she had with him,now my question is it possible to contact such infections without it being sexually transmitted?

True, this is really a mystery or at least it appears so. I have seen herpes infection in girls who aren't in the age at which they could have contracted it. Similarly I have an example of a herpes outbreak in quite a clean couple:I mean in terms of their having been promiscous. The only other possibility of the spread that I could imagineis transfusion of infected blood- in good old days when the screening wasn't so perfect. But in my knowledge I do not remember having read of such transmission.

i guess you are right to have said this sis a mystery because the guy says he is clean while the girl also claims to be clean who then can we say is rersponsible and in the case of those little girls what can we say about them?i think a proper investigation of this herpes will do us a lot more good than we already know now it help us to know that it is not just an std but much more

Well that is just sad. And from what I hear herpes is horrible because you can carry it around and not really know that your carrying it. Good luck to this young couple. It can put a serious damper on the relationship.

I'm not quite knowledgeable here but i think it can be transmitted elsewhere like toilets which was used by a person infected by herpes. He could have touched the toilet then must have rub his lips with his hands. That's just an example ok? But it could also be that he went down on his girlfriend. It's possible that his girlfriend cheated and would deny it until the end. I'm curious though, how about the girl, did she undergo some tests?
