Suet! Suet! Suet!

This photo shows what I think is a Downy Woodpecker at one of the many suet feeders set up at my local Nature Center. I sat there Wed for an hour watching all the various birds and critters visit this area to feed. Do yopu know what type of woodpecker this is by chance? Do you have woodpeckers near your house? I have some that visit and eat the bugs from a few trees in my yard. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I don't know about around here, I have not been here too long, but I used to see them once in awhile at our old place. We have a lot of BIG birds flying around here. Hawks and such.

we have them now. they were pretty much extinct in my area for a long time,but they've been migrating here from somewhere. i was surprised when i heard one for the first time,it took me a few seconds to register what the noise i was hearing was.
