Well, this is a sentance which can have different meaning when two opposite gender person are talking. When I was a teenager(12 or 13), I get very close to one of my niece, we were like best friends and use to spend the whole time together. One day i was telling this to our relatives. One of them asked if I be with her on night also, then my response was like, "Yes, I always sleep with her". Not to mention that there was a burst of laughter all around, I didn't understand at the first go, what was wrong. I asked my niece about it but she was also clueless then I asked one of my elder brother and he told me the meaning of "me sleeping with her!" I was so red that I couldn't even talk to them for a day or two! Did you have any 'red' moments?

Sometimes I think my whole entire life is one big, fat, crazy ,red moment. I am usually good for at least one "red moment" a day. LOL. I am clumsy, silly, and I tend to constantly put my foot in my mouth. LOL.

I like that saying,"one, big, fat, crazy, red moment." That's funny! I'm sure those embarrassing moments weren't too funny at the time they happened. Yes, tell us about one of those red moments. We would all like to hear about it lol. Kathy.

well that is life you know. everyone has their own share of embarassing moments although i have not had such an experience like you. how old was your niece though if she was quite younger to you then no other meaning should have been taken out of it by your relatives.but we learn in life as we go along and i am sure this incident would have made you wiser about how to speak about such things in future.

No, she wasn't younger to I. She was exact of my age and we both have felt the same when we were being explained by my cousin! Yet, I don't think my family members did make something out of it, otherwise I am sure that I would have got some punishement of my life!

Those are the moments I will cherish for a long time. It wasn't said with bad intent was it? I was very proud to announce that "I always sleep with my niece". Now, when I remember that incident, I think that what a fool I was!

I read the title of your discussion and took a quick look around to see if my husband was in sight while thinking, "You did?..." Then I read the rest of it and yes I can certainly say that my life is full of red moments. I spoke of one such moment in another discussion just the other day but I won't mention that one, I’m sure you will come across it sooner or later. I have thought of another one though, my husband still teases me about this one. I ran out of milk and hubby decided to drive me in his silver car to the shop to buy more. We arrived at the store, he parked and I got out while he and my daughter waited in the car. I made my purchase and made my way back to our vehicle. I spotted the silver wagon, opened the passenger door, sat down all the while complaining about the price of groceries, only to turn, look out of the passenger's window and see my husband sitting in the silver car next door with a look that said,"What the heck are you doing??; I quickly turned to the driver and there he was; somebody else's husband waiting for his wife! I GOT INTO THE WRONG CAR!! I actually sat down next to a total stranger who thought the whole incident was hilarious and jokingly asked my husband if he wanted to swap wives! That was a red moment, a very red moment indeed!

asked my husband if he wanted to swap wives! Was both cars looking same or your husband purposefully changed the position. Ok but what was the reaction of your husband when you sit with him, right after the incident!

The two cars looked exactly the same and were right next to each other, my husband didn't move at all. When I returned to our vehicle my hubby could not stop laughing and was relentless with his teasing! This incident happened last year some time and he still teases me about it. We went to visit his family in another town and he made sure they all knew about it as well! The stupid things I do...

Hello sanuanu. It is true that a same sentence can be understood in a different way from a different angle. I still remember that years ago when it was a hot summer afternoon, the majority of my students felt hot and sleepy in class. In order to encourage them to cheer up, I said to them, " In fact, I am as sleepy as you are on such a sleepy and hot afternoon, but I am still trying my best to teach you". Then one of the girls said, "Let's sleep together, since you are also sleepy." After that, all of the students in the class had a good laugh. I was not an exception, either. hehehehe. Thank you so much for this interesting discussion of yours, which reminds me of the funny thing.

Of course we all have our red moments. I married into a family that teased a great deal and I never could be comfortable with them for long periods of time. I have always felt teasing was cruel.

I am also very afraid of in-laws. They make some horrible jokes with the groom to make them red. You have to be frank and shameless to have a chat with them so that you can win with them. I am not married yet but looking forward to it in next 4 yers.

Now how do you know you are getting married in the next 4 years? Is it a personal goal or do you have someone in mind? Maybe you are going to kidnap someone and drag them to the alter.. I told my hubby he had 10 years to ask me to marry him and after that I was giving up...he waited til the end of the ninth year together to ask me..what a poophead!!!

Hello there sanadoodoo..Im sure we all have those moments..I am usually very goog at covering them up quickly so I dont make a complete fool of myself. I can be very quick witted if I have to be. One day I took my bosses car to the store to run some errands for him. When I came out, i got in the wrong car Someone with exactly the same car and same colour was parked next to my bosses, I didnt notice because I didnt usually take his car anywhere..Well it so happened that this person had even left the keys in the car. I got in and wondered why I had left the keys in it, but started it anyways and was backing up, when the other keys fell out of my pocket and I realized I was in the wrong car! I quickly returned the car to the spot, got out and jumped in mine...I dont know how I would have explained that if the owner of the car would have came out as I was driving away!

That's cute because it is said out of innoncence and youth. As you get older and you say you slept with so and so. The listener would just ask you to explain or may have a puzzled look on their face. We all have those moments. I still have those moments. I guess though it depends on the maturity level of those that you speak with. LOL

Indeed and mind you there were some children around there and they kept asking me the reason for others laughing at me but it was so embarrassing that I didn't even say a word to them but these days, I get a little smile on my face when I remember that one!

I'm sure it was the maturity level of your audience. You aren't supposed to know what those things mean or at least not use them in the bad sense at that age. I know how you feel. After you say something embarrassing you hesitate to say that thing ever again.

I remember a time when I was a teen-ager. I played in the high school marching band. We had a pool party at our local public pool at the end of the school year. I guess I was finished swimming because I was going back to the girls dressing room at one point. I started to go in the first dressing room, which was the boys. I could read but it was hard to read the sign because there was a wall in front of the door, if that makes sense. You can probably imagine how embarrassed I was when one of the boys in the band walked out and saw me about to go in. I was so embarrassed I couldn't say anything and I just turned around and walked off. He said "Yeah! This better be the boys'!" Kathy.

Hi Kathy, Well, I can't really imagine having a wall in front of the sign but it was really embarrassing and luckily that one of the boys warned you otherwise, things could have been more embarrassing. Did you share this incident with your friends?

Okay, it is alright now isn't it? Now a days, I am very cautious while going to bathrooms or dressing rooms because they dont' use "Gents" or "Ladies", instead they will use a picture and if with time the picture gets damaged, I might be in a big trouble! Thanks for sharing that incident with me. I guess I am the first one to know about this incident!

No, I guess I was too embarrassed to share it with my friends back then. I don't know if this explains it any better but it was more like a cul-de-sac around the dressing room doors and I didn't remember which was the boys' and which was the girls' dressing rooms. I guess you would have had to have seen it to better understand it. Those who went to the pool more often probably knew which was which. They've remodeled the place since and they have indoor dressing rooms now. Anyway, this boy made the remark kind of smart alecky at the time. He was nicer to me later, though. I guess he realized I just made a mistake. Kathy.

Well, i have very many red moments in my life. And the latest of my collection is about a cute guy. So the story goes like this. We were processing for my enrollment in a university and it happened that we really have to process it in the assessment counter. And on that counter the operator is the Cute Guy, he looks like a korean star, his hair and his eyes are shimmering splendid. We were just waiting on the line, and i can already see him. I don't know if i am just fantasizing that he was always looking at me or not. So when we reached it, my cousin processed it for me but i was there on her side. At that time the Cute guy, take a piece of bread and bite it. My auntie, bullied him in a whisper and i added too some teasing towards the guy. Without knowing that he can hear us, my cousin stopped as saying that he can really hear us. It made me blush all over since he smiled at me and a bit of mad i think. I really don't know, then my companions started to tease me on him.
