Whether the research findings are true or not, I do nto think fat people pose any greater threat than most other people. Some people are very ignorent and pose a greater threat to our planet.I don't think the amount of CO2 that people exhale could make such a large impact. I think the amount of waste people just thow around has a fat greater impact. I think the biggest impact is on our water. Water polution is of greater concern than global warming, in my opinion. Global warming is a serious thing but contaminated water is absolute useless for anything. Fat people can loose weight, contaminated water is wasted. Maybe this research just want to encourage obese people to live a healthier life style Blessings

It might just want to encourage them(thats good thinkin though)but what if they really cause harm to the environment.

Sid556, you are right. All cause some kind of threat to the environment. Some people are overweight because of health reasons. I have a lot of sympathy for people who are overweight, whether their own fault or not, they lead an uncomfortable life and are always treated in a bad way.

what if? Everyone causes harm to the environment in one way or another. Look at all our trash and what that does to the environment.

(and i mean extremely)for you to breath in and it takes that much effect, seriously!!

I don't know if it is true or not but does it matter? What are we going to do about it if it were. Eliminate obese people? What's the point in even doing such a study anyway....so people have even more tools to discriminate others? Interesting study but it'd be good if they'd put the $ and time into researching things that could get rid of diseases and really help lives.

I kind of do believe it. However, I also believe they pose a threat more so because of the waste and garbage they tend to throw away. The fact that the most obsese someone is the less they work makes me sick. I am average size and eat wait I'm suppose to and recycle what I can. Waste as little as possible and walk just about everywhere. Obsese people seem to drive more, eat out at fast food places (which produce a lot of excess garbage) and they tend to drink more soda and processed drinks rather then walking to the sink and filling a glass or just making a large pitcher of tea.

Yeh could possible be true. I have personally never thought of it but it seems to make good sense. They are destroying the environment all in aspects. Be it driving more, eating more which leads to waste, consume more medicines. No doubt this is only a tiny percentage of all problems, but still has an impact. Iam not saying that fat people are the ones destroying the environment. These are so many other thing that pose a threat such as cutting trees, fossil fuels etc. Usually its the skinny people making decisions that threaten the planet.

I think it's unfair to the fats if the researchers only judge them. Perhaps in modern world there's alot of people never see the forest. There's also alot of big and giant trees on the forest. Those trees absorbing much CO2 on the photosynthesis progress. But since people cut many trees, the green become rare in this world. It's not true to say the fat people exhale more CO2 because humans have averagely 5 litres of lungs volume. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

It's not just the fat people that don't do much walking and use cars more than they need to. Many people do. And teens....how often do you see them just driving around just to drive around because they like to? Again...not all fat.

Well u can see that they cant even walk for few miles so naturally they rely more on vehicles that run on natural resources. This is another big problem with them.

That is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard, go through McDonald's see how may fat people you see in there. And as far as driving, don't see many kids walking any more, their parents all have bought them cars or they drive the family car. That may lead to them being overweight. Seems to me that life is looking to throw the blame on someone and obese people are the ones getting it. I see to many shinny people doing just what you say to believe that only obese people contribute to a bad envirement. Watch the teenagers throw the crap out the car windowns rather than put it in a trash can. So skinny people with breathing problems also I guess cause an increase in Green House effects, is it just people that breath heavily or just fat people. don't make fun, you never know when that fat person could be you in the future.
