there was so much action. Just one big question for trekies, did you know Spock and Aurora were more than friends? All those years of watching that show. Never even suspected this. Spock was my favorite character because of his ability to remain calm in any situation. After watching the new movie, I realized there WERE signs in the tv show how they felt about each other. I just missed them because my mind wouldnt let me believe Spock could have emotions. Did you notice the signs years ago? Now I have to eventually get the whole series and watch them again.

Really? What made you think there was something going on? I thought it was she and Kirk.

I guess it was the way they looked at each other when the other wasn't looking & the way they spoke to each other.

that's Uhura, and no, there were no particular signs in the original show, Nurse Chapel was the one who had the hots for Spock.

I am a Star Trek fan, the original series is on tv right now as I type this & I can't wait to see the new movie. As for your Aurora statement in love with Spock, I don't know such a character unless you mean Uhura?

She barely says anything the entire season, my hubby keeps correcting me on her name too. Go see it, you wont be disappointed.

There's boards discussing that apparently there was at least 1 TOS ep where UHURA was getting close to Spock,(Nice to see they acknowledged her first Name in the movie!)but my memory of the series had Nurse Chapel expressing more interest in him..but that didn't work out..I enjoyed the Movie with the new blood brought in and enough gags to keep old trekkies amused..but a bunch of holes in the plot weren't enough to spoil the ride!

Oh I do remember the nurse having a crush on spock. LOL. You are right, there were some holes but it was moving so fast, I enjoyed the ride. The writers did a great job of adding some freshness to an old classic.

As I have been a trekkie since high school, I have loved it. I have only seen bits and pieces for the orignal. I do have all of the star trek movies that are out. You really don't need to know trek, but there are some scenes that are helpful to knowing their history. The kobyashi scene is one that made me chuckle only because I knew what was going on. it was talked about in star trek II.

I did go see the movies but didnt buy the videos, shame on me. I like watching the old reruns better than the movies anyway. Its hard to squeeze good plots into 2 hours. At least they did capture the skirt chasing personality of Kirk in this movie.
