it was 5 or 8 year ago when i applied for the civil service examination. they were in the transition from manual to computeriation of civil service exams. the test was to be conduct around 7am. and whattah you know i was not able to wake up early and be on time. also my place was on the other side of the map. the exam's location was in the further north i was in the further south side of my country. anyways, i guess being in the government office was not my turf. how about you? have taken the exam? good for you at least you have a fall back...=)

When I was in my twenties, and had just left business school, I wanted to get a job as a secretary, so I took the civil service exam, but I did not have fast enough typing skills. I could only be a steno or an office worker, but then I learned of the other conditions - you had to be single (I was then) but you also had to remain single, and since I wanted to get married, I decided not to.

I have never taken it, but I have been wanting and needing to take it because many of the state jobs require it. I have just not gotten up to go stand in line and take it.
