Manny Pacquiao...in POLITICS?

Manny "pacman" Pacquiao is planning for his candidacy on 2010 ELECTION for the position of REPRESENTATIVE in his town. Are you in favor of this? In my opinion, I will not agree with Manny to be involved in politics because POLITICS in the Philippines is not quite good. He will just put his name into a lot of controversy once he enters politics. What I want is he remains to be a hero to us in terms of SPORTS and NATIONALISM. He can be a good Leader in SPORTS but not a LAWMAKER in the congress.

I don't really agree in Pacman's plan of running for a political position because I think it would be better for him to maximize his strength in boxing. I mean maximizing not just through winning every fight but also fulfilling his social responsibility particularly to his own country. I believe that he could help more Filipinos better through his boxing career such as helping those young aspiring boxers, donating to charities and giving scholarship grants to the millions of children who are unable to go to school.

I agree with you tracy. Helping other people is not only through politics but you can do it in many simple ways like what you have mentioned in your post. Have a nice day!

Well, if you're not from his area, then there's no point really with our ideas hehehe... I mean, it's his money, it's his town, and still it's the townpeople's decisions. I've always thought that people should just stick to their profession. But since it's the Philippines, even actors, fighters, military and anyone could just run as long as they have the money to do so. I'd say let him be. If he wants to lose all his money for politics, then it was his choice.

Thanks for responding this discussion. Let's think of this, many Filipino people are suffering from hunger and maybe Manny can feed at least one of them than wasting his money in POLITICS. Have a nice day!
