Hi myLotters? Are you using Twitter or Plurk? When you want to update your family and friends online on what's going on with your life, do you "tweet" it or "plurk" it? Why is that your choice? Thanks!

I'm not using any of them. Actually, I've never heard of Plurk. Facebook is enough for me because you can have more information about yourself there and Twitter is microblogging site so you can write short notes only... And the most important thing, do you really know all your "friends" on Twitter? As I don't believe in virtual friendships I have only real ones on Facebook!

I must admit that I have never heard of Plurk either. Looking at it, it appears to be the same as Twitter with a few name changes to make it seem different. I have a Twitter account for my business, but hardly ever use it. For friends, it is exclusively Facebook, why make it harder for them to find me if that is where they are.

You have a point, Fadolf. I used to have a Twitter but then I don't even know who are some of the people that's following me. Heck, I'm not even interesting, you know? Haha!

graemelamb, Plurk is similar to Twitter, you can only put short messages or updates, but friends and followers can reply to whatever you posted in Plurk. Oh well, I guess other social networking sites like Facebook are more fun to do, plus they have cool apps, too. :)

I love Twitter because of its simplicity. I haven't used Plurk yet. Right now, I'm just loving Twitter.

Both are good webapps. They work differently though.

I prefer Plurk over Twitter because it has a better user interface when it comes to updating my status and it is so much better organized in terms of microbloggs where friends are able to put comments without making anything messy. The timeline they created was simple and yet pretty :) I don't use these microblogging sites to update my friends on what I am doing although I do update my status. I mostly use it to distract myself once in a while :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!
