Today, there are more than 3.5 million blogs in the Internet. This figure is continuously growing, as the accessibility of the various blogging software, tools, and many other applications makes it easier for anyone to update or maintain the blog (even those with a very little or almost no technical background). Because of this development, today bloggers can be categorized into four main types: • Personal bloggers - people who focuses on an online diary or any topic that he/she feels strongly about. • Business bloggers – these bloggers are those who focus on promoting products and services. • Organizational bloggers - blogs which focus on internal or external communication in an organization or a community. • Professional bloggers - those people who are hired or paid to do blogging. Problogging (professional blogging) refers to blogging for an income. Probloggers (professional bloggers) are people who make money from blogging (as an individual blogger or may be as an hired blogger). Some of the many money-making opportunities for probloggers are: • Advertising programs • RSS advertising • Sponsorship • Affiliate Programs • Digital assets • Blog network writing gigs • Business blog writing gigs • Non blogging writing gigs • Donations • Flipping blogs • Merchandising • Consulting and speaking The following are just a few things that you require to believe if you want to be doing well in problogging: 1. Be patient. Problogging requires a lot of time and sweat, not to mention a long-term vision. 2. Understand your audience. Targeting a specific audience or crowd is a key to building a readership. 3. Be an 'expert'. Focus on a specific niche topic and strive to be the "go-to" blogger on that particular topic. 4. Diversify. Experiment with various add and affiliate programs that enable you to make money online (aside from blogging). 5. Do not bore your readers. Focus on the layout. White spaces, line spacings, and bigger fonts make a blog welcoming to read. Certainly, it is possible to earn money from blogs. One just needs to take risks, the passion, and the right attitude in order to be a successful problogger. So, What do you think? Are you a problogger? Have far have you gone?

Ha, I would say I am a business blogger. If I was making money any other way I might blog just to share my hobbies but I don't so blogging is how I make my living and it's all about business. I am not that social so I don't want a blog that I need to be communicating with my audience, other than through the comments so I don't want to go PRO. I am just happy with my 30 or so blogs working from my home office. I also have no desire to hire help, except for those that write articles for me. :)
