Blogging Programs

I read some posts here and I'm happy that there are so many ideas on the net where you can make money. The topic here is specifically blogging. Blog to make money. I'm all out for that before and have adsense on my own blog (but did not join any blog program). However lately, I have had a writer's block and have put my blog on private hold for a moment or two until I regain back my blogging energy. The question here is not about your normal blogging programs where you could put ads. I'm talking about programs like certain companies provide a site where you can blog and they share revenues with you and stuff. Or they pay you through your page ranks on Google. Do you believe in all those? I was googling a particular blogger program (won't mention which) and I was shocked to discover that a long-time paid member had her account revoked and another was reduced her earnings tremendously. And these are members whom have been contributing a lot to this particular blogging company. And have been doing well at that. Ways to reduce money or total inconsiderate move? Not sure, you decide. The question is: There are sites like in forums here and many more promoting sites as such, but the world out there having members complaining that they have earnings slashed and many more. And some felt so upset that they totally withdraw their participation. Would you believe in such sites? I have become a bit wary of these blog program sites which provide a spot for blogging and they are going to pay. But with time, they slashed your earnings or terminate your account. But of course, not all are like that. I'd rather stick it out here in mylot than get my feelings hurt like those 2 long-time members. What's your take on this? Would you risk your time to blog on such programs? Or would you rather just have your own blog and add adsense even though earnings can be shaky? Or totally not caring to blog at all and just sticking 100% to mylot. Do share. Thanks everyone.

I was in a paid blog for a couple of months where I earned a little less than $200 for about four months. That was good. But then I got busy and couldn't post regularly and another thing is the traffic was not that good. So eventually my account got terminated. But it's all right I earned so much already I think even if I still had like $20 unclaimed earnings. That was ouch! Anyway, I also tried squidoo and triond but still have got lots to learn from there. Now, I got my free blogs at blogspot and for the meantime I'm sticking to them.

Hi Jemina, it's good to see you around once more. Hope you are doing fine. That's indeed very cool around $200 or so for 4 months is awesome. And you are right about this blog programs, they require close attention and when one is not around it so much, you might get your account terminated or suspended etc, depending on the blog program policy. I think for squidoo, it's great to get some traffic for your blogspot blogs. I'm on it too, and I'm thinking of developing it and then opening once more. Have a nice day.

My squidoo lenses I think I have messed up because I didn't know what to do at the start. I was just trying things out and didn't know that once you publish a lens there is no going back. You can't edit or delete. Anyway, I heard that some people do get a handsome earning from their squidoo lenses. Anyway, good luck to you.

I'm with you on that too. Sometimes I just don't have the time to link up with all these free sites. They are wonderfully there, but there is just not enough time or the idea is put off for too long that I totally forget about it. It works for many too, but not yet for me. And sometimes promoting a lense doesn't mean there would be lots of traffic too for the links being mentioned.

I've been on myLot for several years and have enjoyed it immensely. Perhaps this is why I have just started my own Blog, which is about my life as a Pro Beekeeper in Canada. I am not blogging to make money, but perhaps I will in the future. I've been keeping bees, and teaching beekeeping for many years. If you are interested in my blog as a Beekeeper you can find it at http://campbellshoney.onsugar.com/

Thanks for your interest and comments on my Campbell's Honey Blog. I am having fun with it now, but perhaps in the future I will make some money with it. As of now its just a beekeeping diary. I'm so glad you like it.

I have stored your url for future reads. I took a look at your blog layout and you have got it running well. There are pictures, text and it's a wonderful site/blog. I agree, perhaps once you have more posts inside, you can think of monetizing your blog in future. For now, it's as awesome as it is. Thanks for your contribution, I'll be sure to read more on bees, as I find them fascinating too.

i had lost my interest with blogging..when you see other bloggers profit you will gain the interest to join them but when your into it, you find it very difficult to reach the same profit their earning..blogging is not so easy as you think it is..even as joining blogging programs its hard to earn a single cent..not like mylot, you join, you prticipate then you earn easy and most specially you enjoy..no pressure added...

I totally agree with you on the earnings part. And I have just re-opened my blog just for hobbies sake. I sort of miss it very much and feel like it's a part of my life and I just update once in a while when I get writing ideas in my head. It's easier and more fun in mylot, I do agree and the earnings do add up. Happy mylotting, my friend.

If given a choice, i will not rather earn thru my blogs.. First of all, if one wanna earn quick bucks or quite a lot of money thru blog, it can only be a short term solution by joining those companies.. BUt if one is to look forward for long term earnings, it's gonna be very slow as one is depending on traffic to your blog, and earning thru self promote.. Thus, instead of using blog to earn, i might as well use it as a side line instead, and using my time somewhere else instead.. hehe ^_^

I like your last line especially. Use it as a side line. Hmmmp, that's really enchanting, LOL. In fact, I have my blog locked now because I'm suffering from writer's burn or writer's block. But I can answer discussions here. Maybe because blogging has a different kind of writing arena. I'm sure there are people earning good, but many are struggling too....thanks for the answer.

Hello Zed. I should say that even i took a step backwards when I read about such cases. One of my friends own some blogs and he makes some good money with it. But if it's so unreliable and can go wry anytime, I would prefer to stock to myLot and make any money slowly and surely rather than being unsure of getting paid after working so much. I have contacted him and he has given me a small task of writing articles for him. Which I'm doing right now along with myLot to get some more money. bourne

Hello bourne. Hope you are doing fine.. I'm happy to know that you have got some work from your friend. At least it keeps the time running and some earnings earned too. It is indeed unreliable and I believe you are right. At least we don't have such things to worry about in mylot as it is an honest site and we don't have much to worry about.
